Analytics Consultant Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a analytics consultant in Rhode Island?
Analytics consulting in Rhode Island has no state-issued license, so the path runs through education and credentials. Most Rhode Island employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, or computer science, with a master's degree competitive at mid and senior levels. Certifications like the Certified Analytics Professional or vendor credentials in Tableau or Power BI strengthen applications. Building a portfolio of analytical projects relevant to finance or healthcare, the state's dominant industries, is the most direct way to stand out.
How much do analytics consultants make in Rhode Island?
Analytics consultants in Rhode Island earn a median of about $102,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $75,310 for the lowest 10% to over $158,820 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire analytics consultants in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring analytics consultants in Rhode Island right now include CVS Health, Ryder System, and Fidelity Investments, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, healthcare systems, and universities means many of these openings sit within internal analytics teams serving those industries.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most analytics consultant jobs?
Providence, Smithfield, and Rhode Island account for the largest share of analytics consultant openings in Rhode Island. Providence leads because it houses the state's main financial services, healthcare, and higher education employers, while Warwick and Cranston attract openings tied to insurance and corporate analytics functions clustered just south of the capital.
Are there remote analytics consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. Analytics consulting is a desk-based, output-driven role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 63% of analytics consultant openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have embraced flexible work for this function. Strategy, reporting, and modeling work tends to be the most remote-eligible, while roles requiring regular stakeholder workshops or on-site data access lean toward hybrid.
How can I get hired as a analytics consultant in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a junior analyst or business analyst role at one of Rhode Island's major healthcare systems, insurance carriers, or universities, which regularly hire recent graduates into rotational or associate analyst programs. Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Roger Williams University all produce local talent that flows into internship pipelines at employers like Amica Mutual and Lifespan. Building a portfolio using publicly available healthcare or financial datasets, and earning an entry-level Tableau or Python credential, gives candidates without full-time experience a concrete differentiator.
Where can I find and apply to analytics consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to analytics consultant jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and preferences, and apply directly to each position.
