Entry Level Area Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level area manager job?
Focus on experience that shows you can coordinate people and operations, even at a small scale. Internships, assistant manager roles, shift lead positions, or managing a team project during school all signal readiness. Employers at this level look for candidates who can demonstrate accountability, follow through on targets, and communicate clearly with both frontline staff and senior leadership.
Which companies hire entry level area managers?
Companies hiring entry level area managers right now include Walmart, Amazon, and Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Retailers, logistics providers, and multi-unit food and beverage operators tend to hire most actively at this level because their business models depend on scalable, site-level management talent.
Are there remote entry level area manager jobs?
Yes, though most area manager roles at this level are on-site given the nature of the work. About 26% of entry level area manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically in companies where the area manager oversees distributed teams or vendor relationships rather than a physical retail or warehouse floor.
Are these new grad area manager jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior area manager roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad friendly posting typically lists zero to two years of experience as the requirement and accepts internships, campus leadership, or a strong portfolio in place of full-time management history.
Which industries hire the most entry level area managers?
Entry Level area manager roles concentrate in Retail, Technology & Software, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors hire at the entry level because they operate across multiple locations simultaneously and need junior managers who can be developed into regional leaders as the business grows.
