Position Overview

Boots & Bourbon is seeking an experienced, dependable Assistant General Manager to work directly with the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, supporting staff, and delivering an excellent guest experience as well as management of social media accounts.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can confidently manage shifts, learn every front-of-house position and kitchen expo, and take initiative throughout the workday. This position also includes creating event promotional materials, scheduling social media content, and collaborating with the General Manager on marketing strategies.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Operations and Leadership

• Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and maintaining service standards.
• Serve as the manager on duty and confidently lead shifts in the General Manager’s absence.
• Learn and be prepared to perform all front-of-house positions, including hosting, serving, bartending, and kitchen expo.
• Coordinate communication between the front-of-house team, bar, and kitchen to maintain accurate orders and efficient service.
• Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and completion of operational checklists.
• Address guest concerns professionally and take appropriate action to resolve service issues.
• Help train and coach employees, communicate expectations, and hold team members accountable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming environment and reinforce restaurant policies and food-safety practices.
• Communicate staffing concerns, maintenance needs, and operational issues promptly to the General Manager.

Social Media and Event Promotion

• Create and organize a monthly content calendar for Facebook and Instagram.
• Schedule the month’s planned content through Meta Business Suite and make updates as needed.
• Use existing branded flyers and templates for recurring events.
• Create or adapt live-music flyers featuring accurate performer information, dates, times, and event details.
• Create engaging promotional content highlighting food, beverages, entertainment, and the guest experience.
• Proofread all promotional materials and confirm details before scheduling or posting.
• Collaborate with the General Manager on marketing strategies, promotions, and ideas to increase awareness and guest visits.

This position does not include responding to social media comments or messages or managing paid advertising.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to manage a busy shift, prioritize competing needs, and remain composed under pressure.
• Willingness and ability to cross-train in all front-of-house positions and kitchen expo.
• Ability to create professional event flyers and social media content using existing templates and design tools.
• Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Business Suite preferred; willingness to learn the required workflow is essential.
• Dependability, attention to detail, initiative, and consistent follow-through.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the General Manager.

Schedule and Availability

• Full-time position.
• Availability for morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Availability for on-call coverage and occasional schedule adjustments based on business needs.
• Specific scheduling and on-call expectations will be discussed during the hiring process.

Performance Expectations

The Assistant General Manager is expected to lead by example, arrive prepared and on time, treat guests and coworkers respectfully, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Success in this role includes dependable shift leadership, consistent follow-through on restaurant procedures, effective communication, and accurate promotional content completed by agreed-upon deadlines. The ideal candidate uses slower periods productively and works closely with the General Manager to strengthen both daily operations and the business’s visibility.

Compensation

$20 per hour.
