Assistant General Manager – Fine Dining Restaurant

Sea Grill Restaurant & Bar is seeking an experienced, polished, and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team.

We are looking for someone who understands that great restaurant management happens on the floor. The ideal candidate is highly organized, guest-focused, comfortable leading a team during high-volume service, and committed to maintaining the standards expected in a fine-dining environment.

This position works closely with the General Manager, Director of Operations, Ownership, Executive Chef, and other department leaders to ensure consistent execution across the restaurant.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily front-of-house operations.
• Maintain a strong and visible presence on the dining room floor.
• Greet guests and conduct regular table touches throughout service.
• Handle guest concerns and service recovery professionally and proactively.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities to the team.
• Coach, train, and develop servers, bartenders, hosts, server assistants, food runners, and other FOH employees.
• Maintain and enforce established steps of service and fine-dining standards.
• Assist with employee scheduling and daily floor plans.
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust deployment based on business volume.
• Support opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure side work and closing responsibilities are completed properly.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, employee evaluations, and performance management.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards.
• Work closely with the kitchen and beverage teams to maintain strong FOH/BOH communication.
• Support private dining, large parties, VIP guests, and special events.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through menu knowledge, beverage education, upselling, and team development.
• Monitor guest feedback and identify recurring operational opportunities.
• Assist with inventory, administrative responsibilities, invoices, and other management duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional leadership presence and represent Sea Grill and Ownership appropriately at all times.

Leadership Expectations

Our managers are expected to lead by example.

This is a hands-on position. Managers should be willing to assist wherever the restaurant needs support, whether that means greeting guests, helping a server, running food, clearing a table, assisting the host stand, resolving a guest concern, or supporting another department during a rush.

We believe strongly in teamwork. Managers are responsible for developing a culture where employees support the entire restaurant rather than focusing only on their individual sections or responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Restaurant management experience required.
• Fine-dining or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of front-of-house restaurant operations.
• Excellent guest service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to coach employees while maintaining accountability.
• Comfortable managing high-volume services and large parties.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of POS systems, scheduling systems, and restaurant technology.
• Food safety knowledge and appropriate certifications preferred.
• Wine, spirits, and beverage knowledge is a plus.
• Professional appearance and demeanor are required.

Schedule

This is a full-time management position requiring schedule flexibility.

Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods based on restaurant needs.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
