Assistant Project Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a assistant project manager in Utah?
Most assistant project manager roles in Utah require a bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline, though some employers will consider an associate degree paired with direct experience. Utah does not have a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers strongly favor candidates who hold or are pursuing the Certified Associate in Project Management credential from the Project Management Institute. Gaining experience through internships with Utah construction firms or technology companies is the most common entry path.
Which companies hire assistant project managers in Utah?
Companies currently hiring assistant project managers in Utah include Quanta Services, M. J. ELECTRIC, and Granite Construction, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's mix of large general contractors, technology companies, and healthcare systems means openings appear across a wider range of industries than in most states.
Which Utah cities have the most assistant project manager jobs?
The cities with the most assistant project manager openings in Utah are Salt Lake City, Draper, and Provo. Salt Lake City drives the largest share of postings thanks to its concentration of corporate headquarters, hospital systems, and active commercial construction, while Provo and other Utah County cities benefit from the technology corridor anchored by companies based near Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University.
Are there remote assistant project manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because the role often requires on-site coordination, contractor meetings, and physical site inspections. About 0% of assistant project manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to sit within software, IT, or administrative project tracks rather than construction or facilities management.
How can I get hired as a assistant project manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a project coordinator or administrative assistant role within a Utah construction firm or technology company and building toward the assistant project manager title from within. Large contractors like Okland Construction and Layton Construction hire project engineer interns and entry-level coordinators who transition into assistant project manager positions. Earning the Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying and building a portfolio of any volunteer or freelance project work meaningfully strengthens a candidacy with Utah employers.
Where can I find and apply to assistant project manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to assistant project manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that match your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
