Hourly Pay Range:
$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Research Associate-Cancer Biology
- Location: Evanston, IL
- Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, [hours and flexible work schedules]
A Brief Overview:
The Research Associate will support ongoing urology research in the Department of Cancer Biology. The ideal candidate will be proactive, proficient in written and verbal English, familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel processing, and capable of independently completing tasks. This position requires dedication and organization. Under general direction, employee will perform a variety of basic research duties, adapting procedures as required. He/she would be responsible for performing laboratory maintenance, organizing and performing experiments, analyzing and documenting resulting data, and communicating results. The associate must be willing to learn new techniques and perform other duties as assigned.
What you will do:
- Demonstrates ability to correctly describe designated research protocols.
- Ensures adherence to good research practices and Endeavor Health institutional guidelines.
- Completes all institutionally required training and education.
- Creates Excel/Prism databases to store data.
- Documents procedures and data in a laboratory notebook.
- Designs and performs research studies using quantitative and qualitative assays.
- Analyzes and visualizes experimental data that is of presentation quality.
- Communicates experimental strategies and resulting data both verbally and through writing.
- Capable of troubleshooting/altering experimental strategies as needed.
- Works in collaboration with lab-mates to complete large experiments as needed.
- Performs literature review regularly.
What you will need:
- Education: Masters Degree Required
- Experience: 3 Years of experience in a professional research laboratory in biology or related field.
- Skills: Excellent computer skills, knowledge of data collection strategies, excellent writing skills
