Entry Level Buyer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level buyer job?
Focus on coursework or internships in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management, since those experiences signal hands-on familiarity to hiring managers. Highlight any exposure to purchase orders, supplier communication, or inventory tracking on your resume. Certifications like the APICS CSCP or ISM CPSM foundational courses can give candidates with limited experience a meaningful edge at the entry level.
Which companies hire entry level buyers?
Companies hiring entry level buyers right now include Hyatt Vacation Ownership, Lakeland Regional Health, and NCH, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. A mix of large retailers, manufacturers, healthcare systems, and government contractors tend to post the most junior buyer openings, since those organizations run high-volume purchasing operations that need dedicated early-career support.
Are there remote entry level buyer jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still dominate at the junior level. About 43% of entry level buyer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting a growing number of employers willing to offer schedule flexibility even for candidates early in their procurement careers. Hybrid arrangements are more common than fully remote at this stage.
Are these new grad buyer jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior roles designed for recent graduates and candidates just entering procurement. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and treats internships, co-ops, relevant coursework, or a portfolio of class projects as equivalent to full-time work history. Look for language like "will train" or "degree in lieu of experience" as strong signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level buyers?
Entry level buyer roles concentrate in Distribution & Wholesale, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at the junior level because they manage large, ongoing supplier relationships and need early-career buyers to handle routine purchasing, vendor coordination, and order tracking that keeps their supply chains running.
