Case Manager Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a case manager in Delaware?
Most case manager roles in Delaware require at minimum a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field, with a master's degree preferred for clinical positions. Clinical case managers typically pursue licensure through the Delaware Board of Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Professionals, which oversees credentials such as the LPCMH and LCSW. Entry-level candidates often start in case aide or service coordinator roles and advance once they accumulate supervised hours toward licensure.
Which companies hire case managers in Delaware?
Employers hiring case managers in Delaware right now include State of Delaware, Resources for Human Development, and Morgan & Morgan, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Delaware's concentrated healthcare and state agency landscape means large systems and government bodies account for a significant share of available openings.
Which Delaware cities have the most case manager jobs?
Wilmington, Dover, and Milford have the most case manager openings in Delaware. Wilmington and the surrounding New Castle County area drive the majority of listings because that is where Delaware's largest hospital systems, behavioral health agencies, and state government offices are headquartered, while Dover attracts openings tied to state agency programs and correctional health services.
Are there remote case manager jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields because many case manager roles require in-person client contact, home visits, or facility-based coordination. About 100% of case manager openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote options most likely in utilization review, insurance-based case management, and telephonic disease management positions.
How can I get hired as a case manager in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for case aide, service coordinator, or community health worker roles at Delaware's larger social services agencies, which regularly hire candidates without prior case management experience and provide on-the-job training. Christiana Care and Nemours occasionally post entry-level care coordination positions suited to recent graduates. Earning a Certified Case Manager credential or completing a supervised internship through a Delaware accredited social work program strengthens applications considerably, as does volunteering with local nonprofits serving vulnerable populations.
Where can I find and apply to case manager jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to case manager jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
