Short Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous, proactive, and approachable Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to work in conjunction with staff and physicians to support the delivery of patient care second to none! To be successful as a CRNA, you should be empathic but resolute in your decision-making, and attentive to detail. The CRNA thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with professionals in neurology, pain management, and more. Ultimately, a top-notch CRNA will exhibit cultural competence and exceptional teamwork skills to provide optimal results within our Operating Room.
Job Description:
- Participates in upholding clinical standards to support patient care
- Collaborates and communicates with Operating Room team members regarding safe and effective patient care
- Supports the Operating Room staff in delivering pre-anesthetic medication as directed and monitors said patient in receiving regional anesthesia
- Performs and documents a pre-operative evaluation in a timely and detail-oriented manner
- Administers general anesthetic, adjuvant drugs, and IV Sedation as needed
- Monitors the patient closely while under anesthesia regarding airway management and the hemodynamic status of said patient
- Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic; takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as directed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- A baccalaureate or graduate degree in Nurse Anesthesia.
- License as a Registered Nurse and Specialty license as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in the state of Illinois
- Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
- Certification or Recertification by The National Board on Certification of Nurse Anesthesia, NBCRNA
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.

Physical Requirements:
- May be expected to lift up to 50 pounds or up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- May be expected to push or pull 150-200 pounds with assistance.
- Work is of medium demand; walking or standing most of the time while on duty.
- Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity are essential to performing designated duties required.
- Optimal auditory acuity is required.
- Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and instruments or needles is essential to performing assigned duties.
- Physical conditions are clean, neat, and well-lit.
- May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations, and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions needed to be taken is essential.
- Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced and required by patient care and the needs of the surgical team.
- Exposure to limited amounts of radiation, hazardous chemicals or substances, and infectious disease processes are a possibility.
- Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of the daily surgical schedule.
