Civil Project Manager Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a civil project manager in Nevada?
The standard Nevada path starts with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management, followed by gaining field or design experience and earning a Professional Engineer license through the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, which requires passing the Fundamentals of Engineering and Principles and Practice of Engineering exams. Many employers also value a Project Management Professional credential. Progressing from design engineer or field engineer into a project manager role is the most common route in Nevada's infrastructure and development markets.
How much do civil project managers make in Nevada?
Civil project managers in Nevada earn a median of about $99,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,610 for the lowest 10% to over $162,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire civil project managers in Nevada?
Companies currently hiring civil project managers in Nevada include Ledcor, Westwood Professional Services, and Qualus, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's sustained highway expansion, resort-corridor infrastructure upgrades, and residential master-plan development in the Las Vegas Valley keep engineering and construction firms actively recruiting experienced project leads year-round.
Which Nevada cities have the most civil project manager jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Eureka account for the largest share of civil project manager openings in Nevada. Las Vegas drives volume through large-scale transportation, utility, and master-planned community projects tied to rapid population growth, while Reno's expanding industrial and logistics corridor along I-80 generates consistent infrastructure work, and Henderson's continued residential and commercial buildout keeps development-focused firms hiring.
Are there remote civil project manager jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Civil project management is inherently site-oriented, requiring regular presence for field inspections, subcontractor coordination, and agency meetings. About 14% of civil project manager openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those postings tend to involve planning, estimating, or proposal work rather than active construction oversight.
How can I get hired as a civil project manager in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to apply for junior engineer, project engineer, or construction coordinator roles at Nevada-based firms such as Granite Construction or engineering consultancies with Clark County and Nevada Department of Transportation contracts. These positions place candidates on active project teams where they gain hands-on estimating, scheduling, and field-coordination experience. Earning the Engineer-in-Training designation while accumulating supervised hours toward a PE license signals a clear professional trajectory and gives newer candidates a concrete edge over other applicants.
Where can I find and apply to civil project manager jobs in Nevada?
