We are looking for a motivated Heavy Civil Project Engineer to join a growing construction team in Chagrin Falls, OH.

This is an opportunity for a Project Engineer who wants to build a strong foundation in heavy civil project management and construction execution while working directly with experienced Project Managers and Project Superintendents.

You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle - from planning and coordination through construction and final closeout. Your responsibilities will include project documentation, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, subcontractor coordination, change management, and supporting the field team.

This is particularly well suited for someone who doesn't want to stay in a purely administrative or design-focused engineering role and instead wants to develop into a stronger project-management professional within heavy civil construction.

• Support Project Managers in managing heavy civil construction projects.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and other project team members.
• Help ensure project activities are properly planned, coordinated, documented, and executed.
• Monitor project progress and help identify issues that could affect schedule, cost, or execution.
• Assist with day-to-day project requirements and keep project information organized and up to date.

• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Document project challenges, client instructions, changes, and other important project events.
• Assist with tracking project modifications and maintaining appropriate records.
• Communicate project information clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.

• Assist with tracking project expenses against established budgets.
• Support accurate project billing.
• Work with Project Managers and accounting to maintain accurate financial information.
• Help identify opportunities for cost control and improved project efficiency.

• Assist with the procurement process.
• Support the preparation and coordination of subcontracts.
• Communicate with subcontractors and vendors regarding project requirements.
• Help maintain productive working relationships with project partners.
• Track materials, services, and other project requirements as needed.

• Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Superintendents to help keep project execution aligned with planned timelines.
• Monitor progress and communicate schedule-related issues to the project team.

• Assist in managing changes to project scope.
• Track and document change orders and project modifications.
• Help ensure changes are communicated to the appropriate project stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records as projects evolve.

• Support the Project Manager during project closeout.
• Help ensure outstanding project requirements are completed.
• Assist with financial and administrative closeout activities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to make sure project records are complete.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Construction/project engineering experience, preferably within heavy civil construction.
• Understanding of construction project coordination and execution.
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project requirements at the same time.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and other team members.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Interest in developing within construction project management.
• Strong desire to learn, take ownership, and grow professionally.
• Willingness to work from the Chagrin Falls, OH office on a full-time basis.
