About the Role
We’re looking for a tech-savvy, highly organized Engagement Manager to oversee client engagements, coordinate remote teams, and make sure projects move forward smoothly in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
This is not a traditional call center or customer service role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with technology, managing multiple priorities, solving problems independently, and operating in a fast-moving environment where processes are constantly evolving.
Experience working with AI startups, SaaS companies, tech companies, digital agencies, or other high-growth businesses is highly preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Own day-to-day client engagements and ensure projects stay on track.
- Coordinate between clients, internal teams, and remote talent to keep deliverables moving.
- Monitor project progress, priorities, deadlines, and potential roadblocks.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend practical solutions before they become bigger problems.
- Build strong working relationships with clients while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
- Translate client needs into clear action items for internal teams.
- Use project management, collaboration, and productivity tools to organize workflows and track progress.
- Maintain visibility across multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Help improve processes, workflows, documentation, and systems as the business scales.
- Analyze operational information and use data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with leadership to resolve escalations and improve the overall client experience.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities, new technologies, and evolving business needs.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in client operations, customer success, account management, project management, business operations, or a similar role.
- Experience working in a technology-driven, startup, SaaS, AI, or high-growth environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
- Comfortable working across platforms such as project management tools, CRMs, communication platforms, spreadsheets, and other cloud-based systems.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and priorities simultaneously.
- Highly proactive — able to identify what needs to be done without waiting for instructions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Able to work independently in a fully remote environment.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You
- Enjoy figuring out how systems and processes can work better.
- Are naturally curious about technology and new tools.
- Can move quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Think in terms of solutions, processes, and outcomes, rather than simply completing assigned tasks.
- Are comfortable working directly with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Have experience in a startup or environment where priorities can change quickly.
- Can take ownership of an engagement from problem identification through resolution.
Important
This role is best suited for candidates with experience in tech, SaaS, AI, startups, digital operations, project management, or client operations.
Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to traditional call-center, BPO, or highly scripted customer service environments may not be the best fit for this position.

Engagement Manager Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a engagement manager in Ohio?
Becoming an engagement manager in Ohio typically starts with a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related discipline, followed by several years in project coordination, account management, or consulting. Ohio does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati value credentials such as the Project Management Professional certification or a Certified Associate in Project Management designation, which strengthen a candidate's profile significantly.
Which companies hire engagement managers in Ohio?
Employers hiring engagement managers in Ohio right now include Amazon, Meta, and OpsArmy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Ohio's strong concentration of consulting firms, regional bank headquarters, and large healthcare networks makes it one of the more consistent states for engagement manager openings throughout the year.
Which Ohio cities have the most engagement manager jobs?
Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati have the most engagement manager openings in Ohio. Columbus leads because of its dense concentration of insurance, financial services, and technology consulting headquarters, while Cleveland and Cincinnati draw hiring from healthcare systems, regional banks, and large professional services firms that maintain active client delivery teams in those metros.
Are there remote engagement manager jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of engagement manager openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and communication-driven nature of the role. Strategic planning, client reporting, and relationship oversight translate well to remote formats, while kickoff sessions and on-site workshops typically remain in person.
How can I get hired as a engagement manager in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a project coordinator, business analyst, or account coordinator role into an engagement manager position. Large Ohio employers such as Deloitte's Columbus office, Accenture, and major health systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth run associate consulting and rotational programs that bring in candidates without direct engagement management experience. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential and building a portfolio of client-facing project work makes candidates considerably more competitive for that first step up.
Where can I find and apply to engagement manager jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to engagement manager jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings across Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and surrounding areas. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each one.
