Tips for Your Claims Analyst Job Search
Tailor your resume to claim types
Insurers and third-party administrators hire for specific lines, so a resume built around medical claims won't land a property and casualty role. Swap in the relevant terminology, adjudication systems, and regulatory frameworks for each application you submit.
Highlight systems you've worked in
Claims platforms like Guidewire, Duck Creek, and ClaimCenter show up repeatedly in job postings. Name every claims management system you've touched, even briefly, because keyword matching against those tools is often the first filter a hiring team runs.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists claims analyst openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for an audit exercise
Many claims analyst interviews include a sample file review or coverage interpretation exercise. Practice walking through a denial rationale or subrogation determination out loud so you can explain your logic clearly under time pressure during the interview.
Address compliance knowledge explicitly
State-level regulations, prompt-payment statutes, and fair claims settlement laws vary widely, and employers in multi-state operations care whether you know the rules in the states they operate. Call out specific state experience or regulatory training directly in your cover letter.
Negotiate using documented productivity metrics
Claims roles are measurable, so come to the offer conversation with your average caseload volume, closure rate, or accuracy rate from your most recent position. Quantified output gives you a concrete basis for negotiating above the initial offer.
Claims Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most claims analysts?
The companies hiring the most claims analysts right now include Ryder System, CVS Health, and AIG, with the largest share of openings in Texas, New York, and Georgia, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Large national carriers, managed care organizations, and third-party administrators tend to post the highest volume of openings consistently.
How many claims analyst jobs are remote?
About 69% of claims analyst openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest share in roles focused on medical billing review, disability claims, and workers' compensation. Property and casualty positions that require field investigation or in-person file handling remain more likely to be on-site.
How do you become a claims analyst?
Start by completing a degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, then pursue an entry-level claims role such as claims examiner or claims processor to build hands-on adjudication experience. Earning an industry credential like the Associate in Claims designation strengthens your candidacy. Familiarity with claims management software and state-specific insurance regulations accelerates advancement into analyst-level positions.
Can you get a claims analyst job with little or no experience?
Yes, entry-level claims analyst roles exist and often prefer candidates from adjacent backgrounds like customer service, medical billing, or paralegal work over no experience at all. Emphasizing any experience reading contracts, interpreting policy language, or working with structured data helps. Some employers hire for trainee or junior analyst titles and provide in-house licensing or certification support during onboarding.
What does the claims analyst interview process look like?
Most claims analyst interviews include a phone screen focused on your background with specific claim types, followed by one or two rounds with a hiring manager and a senior analyst. Expect a practical component, such as reviewing a sample claim file or explaining a coverage determination. Behavioral questions around handling disputed claims, managing caseload pressure, and working with legal or medical reviewers are common throughout the process.
Where can I find and apply to claims analyst jobs?
You can find and apply to claims analyst jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States in one place. Search the listings for roles that match your claim type experience and preferred location, then apply directly to each one that fits.
