Entry Level Clinical Assistant Professor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level clinical assistant professor job?
Start by completing a relevant graduate degree or professional credential in your clinical field, since most institutions expect at least a master's degree for this rank. Highlight any teaching assistantships, clinical practicums, or supervised instruction experience in your application materials. A focused teaching statement and evidence of patient care or lab experience can set you apart from other entry level candidates at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level clinical assistant professors?

Yes, though many clinical roles require hands-on instruction. About 4% of entry level clinical assistant professor openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in didactic or simulation-based courses where live patient contact is not required. Are these new grad clinical assistant professor jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior positions that welcome recent graduates and candidates with limited teaching experience. A new grad role at this level typically asks for a completed clinical degree, licensure in the relevant field, and may accept internship hours or supervised practicums in place of formal faculty experience, making them accessible to first-time applicants.
