Clinical Case Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical case manager in Georgia?
The most direct path is earning a master's degree in social work, counseling, or a closely related clinical field and obtaining licensure through the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists. Most employers require at minimum an LMSW, with the LCSW preferred for roles carrying independent clinical decision-making. After gaining supervised clinical hours, many Georgia employers also expect or sponsor the Certified Case Manager credential through the Commission for Case Manager Certification.
Which companies hire clinical case managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring clinical case managers in Georgia right now include Wellstar Health System, Visiting Nurse Health System, and Legacy Behavioral Health Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Georgia's large managed care presence, particularly around Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans headquartered in Atlanta, generates consistent demand across both health system and payer-side case management roles.
Which Georgia cities have the most clinical case manager jobs?
Georgia, Atlanta, and Decatur have the most clinical case manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to the concentration of major hospital systems, managed care payers, and behavioral health networks in the metro, while Augusta's presence as home to Wellstar MCG Health and a large VA medical center drives demand there, and Savannah's growing coastal health corridor supports a steady volume of community and hospital-based openings.
How can I get hired as a clinical case manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for care coordinator, discharge planner, or patient navigator roles within Georgia's large health systems, where employers such as Emory Healthcare and Grady Health System regularly bring in candidates with a master's degree but limited direct case management experience. Grady and Wellstar both run structured new-graduate and post-master's onboarding tracks for clinical roles. Coming from a background in social work, psychiatric nursing, or behavioral health counseling gives candidates a strong lateral advantage, and completing the LMSW examination before applying removes a common screening barrier.
Where can I find and apply to clinical case manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to clinical case manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, location, and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
