Clinical Research Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical research manager in Texas?
Most clinical research managers in Texas move into the role after several years as a clinical research coordinator or associate, typically holding a bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing, or health-related field. Texas does not require a state-issued license specific to clinical research management, but many employers expect professional certification through ACRP or SOCRA. Large academic medical systems across Texas generally promote from within, making internal coordinator roles a common entry path to management.
Which companies hire clinical research managers in Texas?
Employers hiring clinical research managers in Texas right now include Medpace, Baylor Scott & White Health, and DaVita, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of major academic medical centers, cancer research programs, and contract research organizations makes it one of the more active states for this role year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most clinical research manager jobs?
Irving, Houston, and San Antonio account for the largest share of clinical research manager openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of medical institutions and cancer research programs, Dallas draws hiring from large integrated health systems and pharmaceutical company offices, and San Antonio has a steady volume tied to its military medical infrastructure and university health programs.
Are there remote clinical research manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields because the role often involves direct site oversight, staff supervision, and on-site regulatory reviews. About 0% of clinical research manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote work most often available for sponsors and CROs managing multi-site trial operations rather than positions embedded within a single hospital or research site.
How can I get hired as a clinical research manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is starting as a clinical research coordinator at a large Texas health system and working toward management from within. MD Anderson Cancer Center, UT Southwestern, and Baylor Scott and White regularly post coordinator and research associate roles that serve as the foundation for manager-track progression. Earning a CCRP or CCRC certification early signals readiness for leadership and gives candidates a concrete edge when applying for manager roles with limited supervisory history.
Where can I find and apply to clinical research manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to clinical research manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Texas employers. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and specialty, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
