Clinical Social Worker Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical social worker in Colorado?
Becoming a clinical social worker in Colorado requires earning an MSW from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, then obtaining licensure through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. Most clinical positions require the Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential, which follows an interim Licensed Social Worker registration and supervised post-graduate hours. The State Board of Social Work Examiners oversees the process, including the ASWB Clinical examination.
Which companies hire clinical social workers in Colorado?
Employers hiring clinical social workers in Colorado right now include LifeStance Health, UCHealth, and Thriveworks, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's large integrated health systems, community mental health centers, and school district behavioral health programs consistently represent some of the most active hiring organizations in the state.
Which Colorado cities have the most clinical social worker jobs?
Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Englewood are the Colorado cities with the most clinical social worker openings, driven by the concentration of major hospital systems, federally qualified health centers, and community behavioral health agencies in the Denver metro and by military family services and large healthcare networks anchoring demand in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas.
Are there remote clinical social worker jobs in Colorado?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many clinical social worker roles involve in-person assessments, crisis response, or on-site therapy. About 83% of clinical social worker openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with telehealth therapy and care coordination roles making up the bulk of those flexible positions.
How can I get hired as a clinical social worker in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for associate-level or Licensed Social Worker positions while completing your post-graduate supervised hours, which many Colorado employers structure into the role itself. Large systems like UCHealth and Denver Health, along with community mental health centers such as Jefferson Center for Mental Health, regularly hire clinicians at the LSW level and provide clinical supervision toward LCSW licensure. Case management, crisis stabilization, and school-based social work positions are also strong entry points for candidates building hours.
Where can I find and apply to clinical social worker jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to clinical social worker jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings across behavioral health agencies, hospital systems, school districts, and community organizations. Find the roles that fit your license level and specialty and apply directly.
