Clinical Social Worker Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical social worker in Georgia?
To become a clinical social worker in Georgia, you must earn a Master of Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program, complete the required post-graduate supervised clinical hours, and pass the ASWB Clinical exam. Licensure is granted by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists. Candidates who have not yet accumulated the full supervised hours can obtain an Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker designation while completing their post-master's requirements.
Which companies hire clinical social workers in Georgia?
Employers hiring clinical social workers in Georgia right now include Thriveworks, KBR, and Presence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's large public hospital systems, community service boards, and state-contracted behavioral health agencies are particularly active and consistent sources of clinical social worker openings across the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most clinical social worker jobs?
Atlanta, Marietta, and Macon have the most clinical social worker openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share of demand given its concentration of major hospital systems, community mental health centers, and VA facilities, while Savannah and Augusta attract significant hiring through regional medical centers and the military-connected communities surrounding Fort Stewart and Fort Eisenhower.
Are there remote clinical social worker jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they represent a smaller share of total openings compared to fully desk-based fields because the role often involves in-person therapy, crisis intervention, and community-based case management. About 92% of clinical social worker openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with telehealth therapy positions being the most consistently remote-eligible segment of the field.
How can I get hired as a clinical social worker in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing an Associate Licensed Clinical Social Worker designation through the Georgia Composite Board and targeting community service boards or Georgia DBHDD-contracted agencies, which regularly hire associate-level clinicians to fill supervised positions. Roles such as case manager, therapeutic support staff, or behavioral health technician at systems like Grady Health or Ridgeview Institute provide the supervised hours needed for full licensure while building a clinical record that makes subsequent LCSW applications competitive.
Where can I find and apply to clinical social worker jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to clinical social worker jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to see roles that match your license level, specialty, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
