As a Boxing Coach, you’ll lead engaging, structured training sessions that help participants build boxing skills, fitness, confidence, and respect for safe practice. You’ll adapt instruction to participants’ ages and abilities, demonstrate techniques clearly, and maintain a supportive, well-managed training environment. Your impact: By teaching safe, progressive skills and encouraging consistent effort, you help participants grow while giving families and clients confidence in their training experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead boxing drills, conditioning, and sports-specific training instruction for individuals or groups.
- Demonstrate techniques, observe performance, and offer clear feedback tailored to each participant.
- Set expectations, manage behavior, and promote teamwork, inclusion, and safe use of equipment.
- Communicate with clients and families about session goals, progress, and relevant safety concerns.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and follow facility procedures for first aid and emergency care.
Skills
- Required: Boxing coaching or sports coaching experience, strong communication and teaching skills, and the ability to work with students and children.
- Required: Knowledge of behavior management and safe physical activity; current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills are valuable.
- Preferred: Automated external defibrillator (AED) operation, lifeguard experience, swimming, martial arts, or karate.
- Related experience is welcome: childcare, physical education, health club or gym work, sports teams, team leadership, soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, or climbing.
- Applicants with experience teaching physical education or coaching varied sports can bring useful skills to boxing instruction.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4.0 per week
