Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Accounting Analyst Jobs at AbbVie Jobs
Align Your Credentials With CPA Expectations
AbbVie's Accounting Analyst roles in pharma typically require proficiency in SAP and a degree in Accounting or Finance. Having your CPA exam progress documented strengthens your application, especially for roles tied to internal controls or GAAP compliance.
Target AbbVie's Finance Hubs Strategically
AbbVie concentrates its accounting functions in North Chicago and other established U.S. office locations. Applying to roles based at these sites increases your chances of landing a position with an established sponsorship infrastructure rather than a newly opened regional office.
Confirm Visa Category Fit Before Applying
AbbVie sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, TN, and H-1B1. If you're Australian, the E-3 bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting roles, with a much faster approval timeline.
Prepare for the H-1B Lottery Timeline Early
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you're counting on H-1B sponsorship at AbbVie, you'll need a job offer confirmed before registration closes, giving you a narrow window to secure an offer in Q1.
Understand AbbVie's PERM Process for Long-Term Paths
AbbVie sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Accounting Analysts, which requires a DOL PERM labor certification. This process can take 18 months or more, so raise the topic of permanent residence timelines during the offer stage, not after you've already started.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Accounting Roles
Searching general job boards won't filter for verified sponsorship history. Use Migrate Mate to browse Accounting Analyst openings at AbbVie that are confirmed to sponsor your specific visa type, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting each posting manually.

Find Accounting Analyst at AbbVie JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AbbVie sponsor H-1B visas for Accounting Analysts?
Yes, AbbVie sponsors H-1B visas for Accounting Analyst roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery run by USCIS, you'll need to secure your offer before the March registration window. AbbVie also sponsors E-3 and TN visas for eligible nationals, which don't carry the same lottery risk.
How do I apply for Accounting Analyst jobs at AbbVie?
Applications go through AbbVie's careers portal at abbvie.com/careers. Search for Accounting Analyst openings filtered by U.S. locations where AbbVie has established finance operations, such as North Chicago. To find only roles with confirmed sponsorship eligibility for your visa type, use Migrate Mate to browse AbbVie's current openings.
Which visa types does AbbVie commonly sponsor for Accounting Analyst roles?
AbbVie sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for this function, along with Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality and situation. Australian citizens can use the E-3, Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN, and recent graduates often start on OPT or CPT.
What qualifications does AbbVie expect for Accounting Analyst positions?
AbbVie typically looks for a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Familiarity with SAP, strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and experience with financial reporting or internal controls are commonly expected. CPA candidacy or licensure strengthens your profile, particularly for roles supporting AbbVie's pharmaceutical compliance and audit functions.
How do I plan my timeline if I need AbbVie to sponsor my visa?
Timeline depends on your visa category. F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of post-graduation work authorization, with a 24-month STEM extension available for qualifying roles. H-1B sponsorship requires USCIS registration in March for an October 1 start. E-3 and TN approvals are faster and don't follow a fixed annual cycle, making them more flexible if you're eligible.
