Align your credentials to pharma operations standards
AbbVie's Operations Manager roles typically require demonstrated experience in GMP-regulated environments. Before applying, make sure your resume reflects familiarity with FDA compliance, batch record oversight, or biologics manufacturing, not just general operations management.
Target sites with active manufacturing operations
AbbVie's sponsorship activity for Operations Manager roles concentrates at its manufacturing and R&D campuses, including North Chicago and Puerto Rico. Filtering open roles by facility type increases your chances of landing a position tied to active sponsorship pipelines.
Clarify which visa pathway fits your profile early
AbbVie sponsors multiple visa categories for this role, including H-1B, E-3 for Australians, and TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Knowing which pathway applies to you before your first recruiter call helps you ask the right questions and avoids surprises late in the process.
Understand how PERM timing affects your start date
If AbbVie pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, the PERM labor certification process runs through DOL and can take six months or more before USCIS even receives the petition. Factor that into your employment timeline if you're transitioning from OPT or a grace period.
Use Migrate Mate to surface AbbVie roles that confirm sponsorship
Not every AbbVie job posting explicitly states whether it sponsors visas. Search Migrate Mate to filter Operations Manager openings at AbbVie that are verified for sponsorship, so you're only spending time on roles where your visa status won't be a disqualifier.
Prepare for a structured offer and petition timeline
Once AbbVie extends an offer, H-1B petitions filed under premium processing get a USCIS decision within 15 business days. Confirm with your recruiter upfront whether the company covers premium processing costs for Operations Manager hires so you can plan your transition accordingly.

Find Operations Manager at AbbVie JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AbbVie sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Managers?
Yes, AbbVie sponsors H-1B visas for Operations Manager roles. The company operates in a highly regulated pharmaceutical and biologics environment where specialized operations talent is in consistent demand, and it has an established process for supporting H-1B petitions through USCIS for qualifying candidates in this function.
Which visa types does AbbVie commonly sponsor for Operations Manager roles?
AbbVie sponsors a range of visa categories for Operations Managers, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Singapore and Chile nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican professionals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in qualifying programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for permanent residence.
What qualifications does AbbVie expect for Operations Manager positions?
AbbVie's Operations Manager roles in pharmaceuticals typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, supply chain, or a related field, along with hands-on experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing or quality environments. Experience managing cross-functional teams in a biologics or small-molecule drug facility is a strong differentiator. Advanced degrees can strengthen both your candidacy and your visa petition under EB-2 pathways.
How do I apply for Operations Manager jobs at AbbVie?
Search for Operations Manager openings on AbbVie's careers site and apply directly. To narrow your search to roles that actively support visa sponsorship, browse verified listings on Migrate Mate, which filters AbbVie positions by sponsorship history. When you apply, be upfront about your visa status so the recruiter can confirm early whether sponsorship is available for that specific role and location.
How do I plan my timeline if AbbVie is sponsoring my visa as an Operations Manager?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions under standard processing take three to six months after USCIS receives the filing. If AbbVie uses premium processing, USCIS issues a decision within 15 business days. For permanent residence through PERM, expect DOL labor certification to add six to twelve months before the USCIS immigrant petition stage. Confirm processing preferences with your AbbVie HR contact as early as possible.
