Description
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARWR) is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company that develops medicines that treat intractable diseases by silencing the genes that cause them. Using a broad portfolio of RNA chemistries and efficient modes of delivery, Arrowhead therapies trigger the RNA interference mechanism to induce rapid, deep, and durable knockdown of target genes. RNA interference, or RNAi, is a mechanism present in living cells that inhibits the expression of a specific gene, thereby affecting the production of a specific protein. Arrowhead’s RNAi-based therapeutics leverage this natural pathway of gene silencing. Arrowhead is focused on developing innovative drugs for diseases with a genetic basis, typically characterized by the overproduction of one or more proteins that are involved with disease. The depth and versatility of our RNAi technologies enables us to potentially address conditions in virtually any therapeutic area and pursue disease targets that are not otherwise addressable by small molecules and biologics. Arrowhead is leading the field in bringing the promise of RNAi to address diseases outside of the liver, and our clinical pipeline includes disease targets in the liver and lung with a promising pipeline of preclinical candidates. Arrowhead’s corporate headquarters is in Pasadena, CA with research and development teams in Madison, WI and San Diego, CA. Our employees are nimble, science-driven innovators who are collaborating to bring new therapies to patients in need.

Frame your BD credentials around biopharma dealmaking
Arrowhead focuses on RNAi therapeutics and actively pursues licensing and co-development agreements. Highlight any experience structuring pharma partnerships, term sheets, or alliance management rather than generic sales or commercial roles.
Target roles during pipeline milestone announcements
Arrowhead typically expands its BD team when new clinical data readouts or partnership opportunities emerge. Monitoring their pipeline news gives you a timing advantage when headcount decisions are actively being made.
Confirm your OPT authorization covers BD functions
F-1 OPT is only valid for positions directly related to your degree field. If your background is in life sciences or business with a biotech focus, document that connection clearly before accepting an offer to avoid USCIS scrutiny later.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active BD openings
Arrowhead posts Business Development Manager roles sporadically and positions can close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for currently open roles at Arrowhead that support your visa type so you apply at the right moment.
Prepare for TN eligibility documentation before your interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals can enter on TN status for qualifying management roles. Have your degree credentials, an offer letter specifying the business development function, and any professional credentials ready before your port of entry appointment.

Does Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals does not appear in recent DOL disclosure data as a consistent H-1B sponsor for Business Development Manager roles. The company's sponsorship activity for this function has centered on F-1 OPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card pathways. If H-1B sponsorship is your primary need, raise it directly during the offer stage to confirm whether Arrowhead will file a cap-subject petition or support a cap-exempt transfer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Manager roles at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals?
Arrowhead has sponsored Business Development Manager talent through F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card categories. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or scientific roles. F-1 OPT works for recent graduates whose degree aligns with the BD function. Longer-term sponsorship typically runs through the PERM-based employment Green Card process for retained employees.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals?
Applications go through Arrowhead's careers portal at arrowheadpharma.com. Roles in business development at Arrowhead are competitive and often require demonstrated experience in biopharma licensing, alliance management, or drug development partnerships. Tailor your application to reflect familiarity with RNAi or RNA-targeting modalities. You can also browse currently open Business Development Manager roles at Arrowhead that are tagged for visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate before applying directly.

Familiarity with RNA-based therapeutics or a specific disease area relevant to Arrowhead's pipeline strengthens your application significantly.
How do I understand the visa filing timeline if I receive an offer from Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals?
Timeline depends on the visa type. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for eligible nationals. F-1 OPT authorization should already be active when you start. For employment-based Green Cards, PERM labor certification alone can take 12 to 18 months through DOL before USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition. Clarify which pathway Arrowhead will sponsor and get the expected filing schedule in writing during the offer negotiation.
