Credential Your CNA Before Applying
Banner Health requires state-issued Certified Nursing Assistant licensure for these roles. Get your CNA certification through your target state's nursing board before you apply, since Banner won't initiate sponsorship for candidates who aren't already credentialed and work-authorized to start.
Target High-Volume Banner Facilities First
Banner operates hospitals and outpatient clinics across Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming. Facilities with larger inpatient census, like Banner University Medical Center, post Nursing Assistant openings more frequently and have established HR workflows for sponsoring clinical support staff.
Understand How Banner Uses EB-3 for This Role
Nursing Assistant positions typically qualify under EB-3 skilled or unskilled worker categories. Banner's PERM filings for clinical support roles involve DOL-supervised recruitment, so expect a multi-month employer-side process before your I-140 petition is filed.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
If you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Nursing Assistant roles at large hospital systems like Banner need to be secured well before February to allow time for LCA filing and petition preparation.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Nursing Assistant Roles
Searching Banner Health's general careers page buries sponsorship-eligible postings among roles that don't qualify. Use Migrate Mate to filter directly for Nursing Assistant positions at Banner that have an active sponsorship history, saving you from applying to dead ends.
Ask HR Directly About Internal Transfer Sponsorship
Banner sometimes supports sponsorship for employees already working in a different capacity on OPT or another status. If you're already in the Banner system in a non-clinical role, ask HR whether an internal transfer to a Nursing Assistant position qualifies for EB-3 support.

Find Nursing Assistant at Banner Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing Assistants?
Yes, Banner Health does sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing Assistant roles, though it's less common than EB-3 sponsorship for this position type. H-1B sponsorship for Nursing Assistants depends on the specific job duties, the facility's staffing needs, and whether the role meets USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Your best path is to raise sponsorship directly with Banner's HR recruitment team after receiving a conditional offer.
How do I apply for Nursing Assistant jobs at Banner Health?
Apply through Banner Health's careers portal at bannerhealth.com/careers. Filter by role title and location, and look for postings that reference visa sponsorship eligibility in the job description. You'll need a current CNA license for the state where the facility is located. After submitting your application, Banner's clinical recruitment team typically conducts an initial phone screen before moving to in-person or virtual interviews.
Which visa types does Banner Health commonly use for Nursing Assistant sponsorship?
Banner Health most commonly uses the EB-3 employment-based Green Card category for Nursing Assistant sponsorship, which involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the I-140 immigrant petition. H-1B sponsorship is possible but less standard for this role. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or another nonimmigrant status may also be considered depending on their remaining authorized period and Banner's timeline for filing.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect for sponsored Nursing Assistant roles?
Banner Health requires a current, state-issued CNA certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Nursing Assistant positions. Prior acute care or hospital experience is preferred, particularly for inpatient units. Some facilities also require or prefer completion of a formal nursing assistant training program. Candidates who already have U.S. clinical experience, even from a student or intern placement, are typically prioritized when sponsorship is involved.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Nursing Assistant role at Banner Health?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM process alone takes roughly six to twelve months, followed by I-140 adjudication and visa number availability depending on your country of birth. H-1B processing follows USCIS's annual cap cycle, with an October 1 start date each year. Use Migrate Mate to identify active Nursing Assistant openings at Banner Health early so you can align your application timing with these filing windows.
