Align your credentials to CDW's specialty areas
CDW's Sales Engineers typically support solutions across networking, security, cloud, and data center. Certifications like CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+ signal to hiring managers that you can hit the ground running in their presales environment.
Target CDW's vertical-focused Sales Engineer openings
CDW organizes its sales teams around verticals like healthcare, government, and education. Applying to a vertical-specific role where your background fits gives you a sharper angle than targeting general openings, and it shows interviewers you understand the customer segment.
Clarify visa type eligibility before your first interview
CDW sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT among other categories. Know which visa applies to your nationality and status before engaging a recruiter. Bringing this clarity early removes friction and shows you understand what the sponsorship process requires from both sides.
Find active Sales Engineer openings at CDW using Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and role to surface current CDW Sales Engineer positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Migrate Mate lets you target your applications to companies actively filing, rather than spending time on employers with unclear sponsorship histories.
Prepare for the PERM timeline if pursuing a Green Card
CDW sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing even begins. Raise this topic after receiving an offer and establishing yourself in the role, not during the interview process.

Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Engineers?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Engineer roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for technical and presales functions. Because H-1B is subject to an annual lottery with an April 1 filing window, timing your offer and onboarding with the lottery cycle matters. Starting on F-1 OPT while waiting for H-1B approval is a common path at CDW.
How do I apply for Sales Engineer jobs at CDW?
Applications go through CDW's careers portal at cdw.com. Filter by role type and location to find active Sales Engineer openings. You can also browse CDW's sponsored positions directly on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Tailor your application to the specific vertical or technology focus listed in the job description rather than submitting a generic resume.
Which visa types does CDW commonly use for Sales Engineer roles?
CDW sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Sales Engineer positions. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles and don't require a lottery. H-1B is the most common path for non-TN eligible candidates. CDW participates in E-Verify, which is required for F-1 STEM OPT authorization.
What qualifications does CDW expect for Sales Engineer candidates?
CDW's Sales Engineers are expected to have a technical bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, along with hands-on knowledge of enterprise technology solutions. Industry certifications in networking, cloud, or security carry real weight. Presales experience, the ability to run technical demos, and familiarity with solution selling in B2B environments are consistently valued across their openings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at CDW for this role?
Timeline depends on visa type. TN sponsorship for Canadian nationals can be resolved at the border in a single day. H-1B standard processing runs three to six months after USCIS receives the petition on April 1, with premium processing available for a faster decision. Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process and is typically initiated after you've established yourself in the role for at least one year.
