Align your credentials to U.S. equivalency standards
Creighton evaluates foreign degrees against U.S. academic benchmarks. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying so your transcript reads clearly to a hiring committee and HR team reviewing sponsorship eligibility.
Target departments with recurring faculty openings
Health sciences, nursing, and professional programs at Creighton post Teaching roles with greater regularity than smaller departments. Focusing your search there improves your odds of landing a role with an established sponsorship workflow.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Ask the hiring department directly whether the offer includes H-1B filing and whether PERM-based permanent residency is on the table. Faculty roles at Jesuit universities often qualify for the teaching or research exemption, which affects your long-term pathway.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Teaching roles at Creighton
Browse verified Teaching positions at Creighton University filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate. Seeing which roles list H-1B or TN sponsorship upfront saves you from applying to positions that won't move you forward on your immigration timeline.
Build your J-1 waiver strategy before your status expires
Some Teaching candidates at Creighton arrive on J-1 exchange visas and face the two-year home residency requirement. If that applies to you, file a Conrad 30 or interested government agency waiver early. USCIS processing runs several months and cannot be rushed.

Find Teaching at Creighton University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Creighton University sponsor H-1B visas for Teaching roles?
Yes, Creighton University sponsors H-1B visas for Teaching positions where the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Faculty and instructor roles across health sciences, law, and professional programs commonly meet this threshold. You should confirm sponsorship intent with the department before accepting an offer, as practice varies by school within the university.
How do I apply for Teaching jobs at Creighton University?
Applications go through Creighton's official careers portal, where Teaching roles are listed by department and campus. You'll typically submit a cover letter, CV, teaching philosophy statement, and references. For roles requiring visa sponsorship, noting your visa status in your application helps HR flag the file for the appropriate immigration process early. Migrate Mate also lists open Teaching positions at Creighton filtered by sponsorship type.
Which visa types are commonly used for Teaching roles at Creighton University?
H-1B is the most common path for full-time Teaching faculty. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying academic roles. F-1 OPT and CPT can cover short-term or training-adjacent teaching work. For roles with a research component, EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is sometimes available for long-term faculty positions.
What qualifications are expected for Teaching positions at Creighton University?
Most Teaching roles at Creighton require a terminal degree in the relevant field, such as a Ph.D., J.D., or M.D., depending on the department. Clinical and professional programs may weight licensure and practice experience heavily alongside academic credentials. If your degree was earned outside the U.S., a NACES-approved credential evaluation is standard before HR can complete the sponsorship assessment.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Teaching role at Creighton?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B petitions filed in the regular cap lottery have an October 1 start date, so the process begins several months before your intended start. Cap-exempt H-1B filings for qualifying higher education institutions like Creighton can be submitted year-round, with standard USCIS processing running three to six months. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs longer, often one to two years from initiation.
