Job Description: DataRobot delivers AI that maximizes impact and minimizes business risk. Our platform and applications integrate into core business processes so teams can develop, deliver, and govern AI at scale. DataRobot empowers practitioners to deliver predictive and generative AI, and enables leaders to secure their AI assets. Organizations worldwide rely on DataRobot for AI that makes sense for their business — today and in the future. DataRobot’s Forward Deployed Engagement Manager leads the delivery of our most advanced customer initiatives. In this high-impact role, you will be the captain of the ship for enterprise customer engagements, specifically focusing on the deployment of Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions. You are not just a project manager; you are a technical translator and a strategic partner. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy and engineering execution, guiding our customers through the complexities of adopting autonomous AI agents. Drawing on a background in software engineering or solution architecture, you will effectively manage technical risk while using your business acumen to ensure every project delivers measurable ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Complex AI Engagements: Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for high-stakes professional services engagements. You will manage the scope, timeline, budget, and execution of projects building GenAI agents and predictive solutions.
- Bridge Business & Technology: Act as the primary translation layer between client business stakeholders (up to the C-suite) and DataRobot’s technical delivery team (AI Engineers and Data Scientists). You will ensure business goals are accurately translated into technical requirements.
- Technical Risk Management: Leverage your technical background to identify implementation risks early—whether related to data infrastructure, API integrations, or agent logic—and work with the engineering team to mitigate them before they impact the critical path.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with client sponsors. You will manage expectations, handle escalations, and navigate complex organizational dynamics to ensure project success.
- Drive Adoption & Change: Go beyond delivery by helping customers understand how to operationalize and adopt Agentic workflows, advising on process changes required to integrate AI agents into their daily operations.
- Agile Delivery: Run agile sprints, stand-ups, and sprint reviews, ensuring the delivery team maintains high velocity and clear direction.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical Fluency:
- Understanding of system architectures, API integrations, and cloud infrastructure
- Ability to engage in discussions on the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with engineering teams
-
Familiarity with GenAI and Agentic systems (e.g., non-deterministic behavior, latency trade-offs, MCP servers, RAG architectures)
-
Business Acumen:
-
Ability to define KPIs, measure ROI, and align technical outputs with strategic business objectives
-
Consulting Mindset (“Consulting DNA”):
- Disciplined approach to project governance, documentation, and client communication
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Related Experience: 7+ years of professional experience, including delivery of complex software or data products for enterprise clients
- Hybrid Background: Experience in technical roles (e.g., Software Engineer, Solution Architect, Technical Lead) with progression into client-facing leadership roles (e.g., Engagement Manager, Technical Program Manager, Product Owner)
- AI/ML Experience: Experience managing data science or machine learning projects
- Education: Technical undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or similar); MBA preferred
- Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master (CSM), or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
- Consulting Experience: Experience working within a management consulting or technology consulting environment (Big 4 or boutique)

Target roles aligned with DataRobot's core AI platform
DataRobot's sponsorship activity centers on technical roles in machine learning, data engineering, and platform development. Prioritize applications for positions where your skills map directly to building or supporting AI infrastructure, these are the roles most likely to move through sponsorship.
Understand which visa types DataRobot actively supports
DataRobot sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways. Knowing which category fits your situation before you apply lets you ask informed questions during interviews and signals you've done your homework on their process.
Use OPT or CPT as a foot-in-the-door strategy
DataRobot accepts F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, making it accessible for recent graduates. Starting on OPT gives you time to demonstrate your value before H-1B sponsorship becomes the next step in the conversation with your hiring manager.
Engage DataRobot's talent team early if you need TN status
For Canadian and Mexican nationals, DataRobot's TN sponsorship support is a faster pathway than H-1B. Confirm TN eligibility for your specific role early in the process, data scientists, engineers, and analysts frequently qualify under the treaty categories DataRobot typically hires for.
Filter for verified sponsors before you apply
Not every company that mentions sponsorship in a job post actually follows through. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from wasting applications on employers who only sponsor in theory.
Position Green Card intent as a long-term commitment signal
DataRobot sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which signals willingness to invest in long-term employee retention. When interviewing, framing your career goals around building lasting expertise in AI platforms can reinforce that you're a candidate worth that longer commitment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DataRobot sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, DataRobot sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established track record of H-1B filings, primarily for technical roles in areas like machine learning, software engineering, and data science. If you're applying on H-1B status, target roles where your background aligns with DataRobot's core AI platform work, and confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiting team during your initial conversations.
Which visa types does DataRobot sponsor?
DataRobot sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visa for nonimmigrant pathways, as well as EB-2 and EB-3 for employment-based Green Cards. This breadth makes DataRobot accessible to candidates at different career and immigration stages, from recent graduates on OPT to experienced professionals seeking permanent residency.
What types of roles at DataRobot are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at DataRobot is concentrated in technical and specialized roles, particularly software engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and platform-focused product roles. These positions require degree-level qualifications in a specific field, which is the core requirement for H-1B specialty occupation status. Non-technical or generalist roles are less likely to be approved for sponsorship.
How do I find open sponsored roles at DataRobot?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find DataRobot roles that come with verified sponsorship history. Rather than relying on job descriptions that mention sponsorship without proof, Migrate Mate filters employers based on actual filing records. Search for DataRobot on the platform and filter by the visa type that applies to your situation to see relevant openings.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by DataRobot?
The strongest applications for DataRobot sponsorship come from candidates whose technical background maps precisely to AI, machine learning, or data engineering. Demonstrating hands-on experience with automated machine learning platforms, model deployment, or MLOps is more compelling than general software skills. If you're on OPT, use that period to build a track record at DataRobot before raising the H-1B conversation. Showing long-term career intent aligned with their AI platform roadmap strengthens the case for Green Card sponsorship down the line.
