Verify Your CDR Credential Before Applying
DaVita requires active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentials issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Confirm your CDR registration is current and matches the name on your visa documents before submitting any application.
Target Dialysis-Focused Dietitian Openings Specifically
DaVita's core hiring is tied to its dialysis centers, not general hospital nutrition. Search for roles specifying renal or kidney care dietetics, where your clinical background in chronic kidney disease directly strengthens your candidacy and sponsorship case.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Sponsorship-Confirmed Openings
Not every DaVita job posting explicitly states visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to browse and filter Registered Dietitian roles at DaVita that are confirmed to sponsor, saving time you'd otherwise spend chasing listings that lead nowhere.
Understand How TN Status Works for Dietitians
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue TN status for dietitian roles without waiting on the H-1B lottery. DaVita has sponsored TN visas for this role, and TN approval often happens at the port of entry, making timelines significantly shorter than USCIS petition routes.
Ask Recruiters Directly About Green Card Sponsorship Timing
DaVita sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Registered Dietitians, but PERM labor certification timelines vary by role location and market conditions. During the offer stage, ask specifically whether the position is eligible for immigrant visa sponsorship and what the expected PERM filing timeline looks like.
Align Your OPT Start Date with DaVita's Hiring Cycles
DaVita posts Registered Dietitian roles on a rolling basis, but clinical onboarding takes time. If you're on F-1 OPT, account for credentialing and background checks, which can consume three to four weeks of your authorized employment window before your first patient-facing shift.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DaVita sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Dietitians?
Yes, DaVita sponsors H-1B visas for Registered Dietitian roles. Because dietitian positions typically require a specific bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics plus CDR credentials, they generally qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. If you're currently on OPT and receive an offer, DaVita can file an H-1B petition on your behalf during the annual cap registration period in March.
How do I apply for Registered Dietitian jobs at DaVita?
You can search and apply through DaVita's careers page directly, filtering by job function and location. To find roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed, browse Migrate Mate's listings for DaVita Registered Dietitian positions. When applying, ensure your CDR registration number is current and your resume reflects any renal or dialysis-specific clinical experience, which DaVita prioritizes heavily.
Which visa types does DaVita commonly sponsor for Registered Dietitian roles?
DaVita sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and immigrant visas including EB-2 and EB-3 for Registered Dietitian positions. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals and is often the fastest path. For longer-term immigration, DaVita supports PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, though timelines depend on your country of birth and the specific role location.
What qualifications does DaVita expect for Registered Dietitian roles?
DaVita requires active RDN credentials from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a valid state licensure where required. For dialysis-specific positions, experience in renal nutrition or chronic kidney disease management is strongly preferred. Some postings also require certification as a Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR). A bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a closely related field is the baseline academic requirement.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Registered Dietitian joining DaVita?
Timeline depends on your visa type. TN visas for Canadian nationals can be approved at the border on your start date. H-1B petitions filed under cap must align with the October 1 fiscal year start, so offers made in spring typically have a six-month lead time. For EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, PERM labor certification alone takes roughly 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing begins.
