Frame Your Credentials Around Client Delivery
Deloitte's Security Sales Engineer roles sit at the intersection of presales and consulting. Certifications like CISSP or CISM matter less in isolation than how you've used them to scope and close security engagements for enterprise clients.
Target Deloitte's Cyber Practice Directly
Deloitte houses Security Sales Engineers under its Cyber and Strategic Risk practice. Filtering your job search to that practice unit, rather than broad IT roles, surfaces the positions most likely to carry active visa sponsorship authorization from the hiring group.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Sponsored Openings
Not every Security Sales Engineer posting at Deloitte will explicitly advertise sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Deloitte roles by visa type so you're only spending time on positions where H-1B, E-3, or EB-2 sponsorship is confirmed.
Clarify Sponsorship Type Before Offer Stage
Deloitte sponsors multiple visa categories for this function. Before you reach offer negotiations, ask your recruiter whether the role is filed as cap-subject H-1B or if you qualify for a cap-exempt path, since timing and lottery risk differ significantly between the two.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation in Advance
Once Deloitte extends an offer, the DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before USCIS can receive your I-129 petition. Having your employment verification documents, degree transcripts, and prior visa records organized shortens this window considerably.
Align Your Start Date to H-1B Cap Timelines
If you're cap-subject, USCIS only accepts H-1B petitions in April for an October 1 start date. Factor this into salary negotiations with Deloitte, since a gap between your offer and authorization date may affect your onboarding plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Security Sales Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Security Sales Engineer roles. The firm has a well-established immigration program that handles filings across its Cyber and Strategic Risk practice. Sponsorship is typically confirmed during the offer stage, and Deloitte's in-house immigration team coordinates directly with USCIS on petition preparation and submission.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Security Sales Engineer roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for Security Sales Engineers. E-3 visa is available exclusively to Australian citizens and offers a simpler filing process. H-1B1 covers Chilean and Singaporean nationals. Which category applies depends on your nationality, current status, and the specific role structure.
How do I apply for Security Sales Engineer jobs at Deloitte?
Applications go through Deloitte's careers portal, but roles in the Cyber and Strategic Risk practice fill quickly and aren't always easy to locate. Migrate Mate filters Deloitte's Security Sales Engineer openings by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which postings align with your visa category before applying. Tailor your application to demonstrate client-facing security consulting experience, not just technical depth.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Security Sales Engineer candidates?
Deloitte typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a closely related field, since this role qualifies as a specialty occupation under H-1B requirements. Beyond credentials, they prioritize candidates with enterprise security presales or consulting experience, familiarity with frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001, and the ability to translate technical security architecture into client business outcomes.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Deloitte to sponsor an H-1B?
If you're cap-subject, USCIS opens H-1B registration in March and petitions are filed in April for an October 1 start date. Deloitte typically initiates the process several months before the filing window. Starting your job search in the fall for a spring registration cycle gives you enough runway. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Deloitte can file a transfer and you can start before USCIS adjudicates the petition under portability rules.
