Align your credentials to Deloitte's frameworks
Deloitte's cybersecurity practice leans heavily on certifications like CISSP, CISM, and cloud security credentials. Pairing these with experience on client-facing engagements rather than purely internal security work strengthens your profile for their consulting roles.
Target practice areas that match your specialization
Deloitte organizes cybersecurity hiring across distinct practices: identity, cloud, OT security, and cyber risk. Applying to roles that match your specific background reduces the likelihood of a Request for Evidence on the specialty occupation requirement during H-1B adjudication.
Confirm visa type eligibility before the offer stage
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for this role. If you hold Australian or Singapore citizenship, confirm your visa category with the recruiter early so the LCA filing and petition paperwork reflect the correct classification from the start.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Senior Cybersecurity Engineer roles
Deloitte posts security roles across multiple locations and service lines simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Senior Cybersecurity Engineer openings by visa type so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed for your situation.
Understand Deloitte's PERM timeline for green card sponsorship
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process requires DOL to certify no qualified U.S. workers were displaced. At a firm Deloitte's size, internal processes for initiating PERM often begin after your first or second year, so plan your H-1B runway accordingly.
Prepare client engagement documentation before interviews
Deloitte may need to demonstrate end-client placement to USCIS when filing your H-1B petition. Having clear documentation of past project scopes, client industries, and your defined technical role on each engagement helps your legal team build a stronger specialty occupation argument.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Cybersecurity Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Cybersecurity Engineers and has a well-established process for doing so across its consulting and risk advisory practices. The firm also sponsors H-1B1 visas for eligible Singapore citizens and E-3 visas for Australian citizens. If you're navigating the H-1B visa cap, Deloitte typically participates in the annual lottery registration window in March.
How do I apply for Senior Cybersecurity Engineer jobs at Deloitte?
You can apply directly through Deloitte's careers portal, filtering by the cybersecurity service line and your preferred location. Before applying, confirm that the specific role listing supports visa sponsorship, since not every posting does. Migrate Mate lets you browse Deloitte's Senior Cybersecurity Engineer openings that are verified as visa-sponsoring positions, so you can focus your applications where they're most likely to result in a sponsored offer.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly use for Senior Cybersecurity Engineers?
Deloitte uses H-1B for most internationally sponsored hires in this role. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, which offers a faster and less lottery-dependent path. Singapore citizens may qualify for the H-1B1 visa. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Deloitte sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions, typically after an initial period in the H-1B status.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer?
Deloitte typically expects a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field, along with several years of hands-on security experience. Industry certifications like CISSP, CISM, or cloud security credentials from AWS or Azure carry significant weight. For consulting roles, experience working across client environments and translating technical risk into business recommendations is often as important as purely technical skills.
How long does Deloitte's visa sponsorship process take for this role?
For H-1B, the standard timeline runs from lottery registration in March to an October 1 start date if selected, though premium processing through USCIS can reduce adjudication time to roughly 15 business days. E-3 and H-1B1 visas move faster since they aren't subject to the lottery and can be processed through consular channels in a matter of weeks. Expect the LCA filing with DOL to take up to seven business days before the petition can be submitted.
