We’re at a pivotal moment as AI transforms how creative work is imagined and produced. This is an opportunity to help define the next generation of professional creative software by rethinking workflows, interfaces, and systems. These enable people to develop in entirely new ways.
THE ROLE
Adobe Design is a globally distributed team of around 700 designers, researchers, prototypers, and program managers. We are hiring a Staff Designer to join the Pro Design team.
We’re looking for a systems-minded designer who thrives in ambiguity, moves fluidly between vision and detail, and uses modern tools, including AI, to explore and validate ideas quickly.
In this role, you will operate at both strategic and executional levels, driving design direction across complex product areas. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and research to find opportunities, define future-facing experiences, and deliver high-quality solutions used by millions of creatives worldwide.
You bring strong domain expertise in areas such as graphic design, vector graphics, 3D, motion, and AI. You understand the nuances of creative tools and use that perspective to inform thoughtful, high-quality product decisions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Define and evolve end-to-end workflows that enhance how creatives work across devices and surfaces
- Explore and communicate ideas through sketches, storyboards, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes
- Use AI and modern prototyping tools to rapidly iterate on concepts and rethink creative workflows
- Apply your knowledge to inform product decisions and elevate the quality of creative tooling
- Partner within Adobe to shape roadmap, scope, and execution
- Clearly articulate design decisions using research, data, and strong product thinking
- Mentor and guide other designers, improving craft, systems thinking, and building quality
- Contribute to and influence design systems and cross-product consistency
- Lead and participate in critiques, fostering a culture of thoughtful feedback and continuous improvement
MUST-HAVES
- Strong foundation in one or more creative domains such as graphic design, vector graphics, 3D design, or motion, with the ability to translate that knowledge into product design decisions
- Proven experience leading complex product design initiatives, typically with 8+ years in product, UX, or interaction design
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design thinking, from early concept through shipped work
- Experience designing for mobile and/or web applications at scale
- Ability to connect high-quality design craft with product strategy and user needs
- Experience working through ambiguity and driving clarity in complex systems
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, capable of influencing cross-functional partners
- Experience mentoring or guiding other designers
- Commitment to inclusive and accessible design practices
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience designing tools for creative professionals such as designers, artists, or video editors
- Experience shaping platform-level experiences or design systems
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows or tools, including prototyping, concept generation, or creative tooling
HOW TO APPLY
To be considered, please submit your resume and portfolio.
We care deeply about your process. Include case studies that show how your work evolved. Early explorations, tradeoffs, and challenges are just as valuable as polished outcomes.

Align your degree to Adobe's specialty roles
Adobe's E-3 roles in software engineering and data science require a degree directly tied to the job function. Cross-check your qualification against the O*NET occupation profile for your target role before applying, so the specialty occupation requirement is clearly met.
Target product and platform engineering teams
Adobe's largest E-3 hiring concentrates in its Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Document Cloud engineering orgs. Targeting open roles within these product lines gives you the strongest match with Adobe's established E-3 sponsorship history.
Confirm Labor Condition Application before accepting an offer
Adobe must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your consular interview. Ask your recruiter to confirm the LCA timeline early, since LCA certification is a prerequisite you can't work around or compress at the consulate.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Adobe's prevailing wage compliance
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your role and work location. Run a check through Migrate Mate using the OFLC Wage Search data before you negotiate, so you can spot any gap between Adobe's offer and the required minimum.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but Adobe's immigration team may still request a credential evaluation. Have a formal evaluation from a NACES-member agency ready before your interview appointment.
Book your consular interview immediately after LCA certification
E-3 visa appointments at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth fluctuate significantly by season. Once Adobe's LCA is certified, schedule your interview without delay to avoid wait times that push your start date past what your offer letter specifies.
Adobe E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Adobe sponsors E-3 visas for Australian citizens in qualifying specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship is most consistently available in software engineering, data science, product management, and UX design. Adobe has dedicated immigration support resources, which means the internal process for initiating an E-3 filing is well-established compared to smaller technology employers.
Which Adobe teams and roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Adobe is most common in technical roles tied to its core product platforms, including software engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and product managers. Design and UX roles within Creative Cloud teams have also supported E-3 filings. Roles that require a specific bachelor's degree field, rather than any degree, are the strongest candidates for specialty occupation approval.
How do I navigate the E-3 application process at Adobe?
Once Adobe extends a conditional offer, its immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the visa fee, and attend a consular interview in Australia. Adobe's HR and legal teams typically coordinate the LCA and documentation steps, but you're responsible for scheduling your own consular appointment through the USCIS-designated scheduling portal.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take at Adobe?
LCA certification from the DOL generally takes around seven business days. From there, consular appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth determines most of the remaining timeline. In practice, the full process from signed offer to visa stamp can take four to eight weeks, depending on consulate wait times at the time you apply.
How do I make my E-3 application at Adobe as strong as possible?
Start by confirming your degree directly maps to the job description, not just to a general field. Verify that Adobe's offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your specific role and work location using the OFLC Wage Search before you finalize your offer. Migrate Mate can help you check wage compliance and prepare your filing documents, reducing the risk of delays tied to incomplete or inconsistent paperwork.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Adobe?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
