Frame your credentials around U.S. specialty occupation standards
Gardiner Theobald's E-3 roles typically require a degree directly tied to the position, not just general business qualifications. Map your Australian bachelor's degree field to the specific role title using O*NET to confirm it meets the specialty occupation threshold before applying.
Target cost management and advisory practice areas
Gardiner Theobald's U.S. work centers on owner's project management, cost consulting, and program advisory. Tailoring your application to these service lines, rather than general project delivery, signals you understand where the firm actually places E-3 hires within its team structure.
Request LCA filing before your start date is set
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before your E-3 application proceeds. At Gardiner Theobald, flag this dependency early in offer negotiations so HR initiates the LCA process with enough lead time to avoid pushing your start date back.
Verify your prevailing wage position using OFLC Wage Search
The LCA locks in a wage that must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Before accepting an offer, run the OFLC Wage Search for your job title and Gardiner Theobald's office city to confirm the proposed salary satisfies the legal minimum.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your E-3 filing documents
Once Gardiner Theobald extends an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service assigns a dedicated expert to prepare and review your application package. This is especially useful when coordinating between the employer's HR team and your consulate appointment in Australia.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions specific to consulting roles
Consulting firms like Gardiner Theobald often hire into project-based roles, which consular officers sometimes probe for immigrant intent. Bring documentation showing defined project scope, a current Australian address, and any professional ties at home that support your intent to return.
Gardiner & Theobald LLC E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gardiner Theobald sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Gardiner Theobald sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian professionals joining its U.S. consulting practice. The firm also sponsors H-1B visa and TN visas, which indicates an established immigration process rather than ad hoc sponsorship. Roles in cost management, project advisory, and program management are the most consistent areas of E-3 activity.
Which roles at Gardiner Theobald are typically eligible for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Gardiner Theobald is most common in professional and technical roles that require a relevant bachelor's degree, such as cost managers, project managers, and advisory consultants. These positions align with the E-3 specialty occupation requirement because they demand theoretical and practical application of a specific field of study.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving an offer from Gardiner Theobald?
After accepting an offer, Gardiner Theobald's HR or legal team initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and schedule your consulate interview in Australia. USCIS is not involved in standard E-3 consular processing, so no petition filing is required on your end.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at a firm like Gardiner Theobald?
LCA certification from DOL typically takes around seven business days. Consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth adds the most variability, with wait times ranging from one to several weeks depending on the time of year. Most applicants working with an organized employer complete the full process within four to six weeks of offer acceptance.
How do I find open E-3 roles at Gardiner Theobald?
Migrate Mate lists Gardiner Theobald roles filtered by verified E-3 sponsorship history, so you can identify open positions without manually screening job boards for sponsorship willingness. You can also search Gardiner Theobald's careers page directly and reference the firm's LCA filing history through the DOL's OFLC disclosure data to confirm which job titles have previously been sponsored.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Gardiner Theobald?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
