Tailor your resume to healthcare administration
Fairview operates across hospital, clinic, and care coordination settings. Highlight experience with medical scheduling software, HIPAA-compliant workflows, or patient-facing support roles. Generic administrative resumes get screened out before sponsorship conversations ever start.
Start your F-1 OPT application early
USCIS recommends filing your OPT application up to 90 days before your program end date. If you're targeting a post-graduation start at Fairview, filing late can create a gap that costs you the offer.
Find Fairview administrative roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter Administrative Assistant openings at Fairview Health Services by visa type. It cuts out employers who don't sponsor and surfaces roles where your authorization status is already a fit.
Prepare your credential documentation before interviews
Fairview's HR teams often run E-Verify and review work authorization documents during onboarding. Have your I-20, EAD, or visa stamp ready to share quickly. Delays at this stage can push your start date past what the department can accommodate.

Find Administrative Assistant at Fairview Health Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fairview Health Services sponsor H-1B visas for Administrative Assistants?
Yes, Fairview Health Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Administrative Assistant roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, your application is stronger when the role involves specialized healthcare coordination, health informatics, or functions tied to a specific degree field. Discuss this directly with Fairview's HR team when you receive an offer to confirm the role meets USCIS criteria.
How do I apply for Administrative Assistant jobs at Fairview Health Services?
You can apply directly through Fairview's careers portal or find open Administrative Assistant roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. When applying, clearly state your work authorization status and the type of sponsorship you need in your cover letter or application. Fairview's recruiting team handles high volumes, so being upfront about your visa situation early saves time for both sides.
Which visa types are commonly used for Administrative Assistant roles at Fairview Health Services?
Fairview has sponsored Administrative Assistants under H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while H-1B and TN are frequently used for longer-term placements. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is available for qualifying candidates in permanent roles, though timelines vary significantly depending on your country of birth and priority date.
What qualifications does Fairview Health Services expect for Administrative Assistant positions?
Fairview typically looks for candidates with experience in healthcare or clinical support environments. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, medical terminology, scheduling tools, and HIPAA compliance is consistently valued. A relevant associate's or bachelor's degree strengthens your candidacy, particularly if you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship where the specialty occupation requirement ties the role to a specific field of study.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship process timeline when targeting Fairview?
Timing your application matters. H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so align your job search to receive an offer by February or March at the latest. If you're on F-1 OPT, file with USCIS at least 90 days before your work authorization expires. TN status can move faster since it doesn't require USCIS approval, which makes it advantageous for candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship targeting Fairview roles.
