Align your credentials to ratings methodology
Fitch Program Directors typically oversee analytical frameworks across credit or risk functions. Before applying, document how your credentials map to CFA designations, financial modeling, or regulatory reporting, the fields where Fitch files sponsorship most consistently.
Target Fitch's sector-specific program openings
Fitch organizes its program leadership by asset class, structured finance, corporates, sovereigns. Apply to openings in your specific domain rather than generic program roles, since sponsorship decisions are made at the business unit level, not centrally.

Find Program Director at Fitch Ratings JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Fitch Ratings sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Yes, Fitch Ratings sponsors H-1B visas for Program Director roles. Program Directors fall within specialty occupation requirements because the position demands advanced expertise in financial analysis, ratings methodology, or risk management, fields requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related discipline. Fitch's legal and HR teams handle the H-1B petition process through USCIS, typically coordinating the Labor Condition Application with DOL in advance of the filing.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Fitch Ratings?
Applications go through Fitch's careers portal, where openings are organized by business segment and location. You can also browse current Program Director postings at Fitch Ratings filtered by visa eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific analytical domain, structured finance, corporate ratings, or sovereign risk, since Fitch's program leadership is organized by asset class, and generic applications are less competitive.
Which visa types does Fitch Ratings commonly use for Program Director roles?
Fitch sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for program-level roles. Australian nationals are well-positioned with the E-3, which has no lottery. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying financial occupations may be eligible under TN status. For longer-term permanent residency, Fitch supports EB-2 and EB-3 petitions through the PERM process with DOL.
What qualifications does Fitch Ratings expect for Program Director candidates?
Fitch Program Directors are generally expected to hold an advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field, alongside substantial experience in credit analysis, ratings, or financial risk. CFA designation is common among candidates who progress to program leadership. Prior experience managing cross-functional projects within an investment management or financial services environment strengthens your profile significantly, since Fitch's program roles require both technical depth and stakeholder coordination skills.
How do I manage visa timing when transitioning into a Fitch Program Director role?
If you're changing employers, your H-1B or E-3 transfer needs to be filed before your current status expires, USCIS allows you to start work at Fitch once the petition is received, not approved. For F-1 OPT holders, confirm your OPT expiry date and whether a STEM extension applies before your start date. Build at least four to six weeks of buffer between your last day at a previous employer and your Fitch start date to account for LCA certification timelines at DOL.
