Frame your logistics credentials for U.S. standards
Flexport Operations roles often require customs, freight forwarding, or trade compliance knowledge. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation through a NACES-member service before applying so your background reads clearly to hiring managers.
Target roles that map to specialty occupation criteria
H-1B eligibility hinges on whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For Operations at Flexport, positions tied to customs brokerage, trade compliance, or supply chain analytics have a stronger case than generalist coordinator titles when USCIS reviews the petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Flexport Operations openings by visa type
Flexport posts Operations roles across several functions, and not all are equally sponsorship-friendly. Migrate Mate lets you filter Flexport listings by visa category so you're only applying to roles that match your specific status, whether that's OPT, TN, or H-1B.
Confirm LCA filing timing before accepting an offer
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. At Flexport, ask your recruiter early whether they've initiated this step, since LCA certification delays can push your start date by several weeks.
Highlight cross-border operations experience in your application
Flexport's core business is international freight, so Operations candidates with hands-on experience in customs clearance, incoterms, or multi-modal logistics stand out. Make that experience explicit in your resume rather than burying it under generic supply chain language.
Plan your OPT-to-H-1B transition around the April lottery window
If you're on F-1 OPT targeting a full-time Operations role at Flexport, the H-1B cap registration opens in March each year. Work backward from that date so your offer letter, I-129 preparation, and USCIS registration all align before the window closes.

Find Operations at Flexport JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Flexport sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Flexport sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. The strongest cases are roles with defined degree requirements in fields like supply chain management, logistics, or trade compliance, since USCIS requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation. Generalist coordinator titles can face more scrutiny, so it's worth confirming the specific job title and its requirements with your recruiter before accepting an offer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations roles at Flexport?
Flexport sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for eligible Operations employees. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering operations analyst or coordinator roles, with H-1B sponsorship pursued once OPT authorization is running out.
What qualifications and experience does Flexport expect for Operations roles?
Flexport typically looks for candidates with backgrounds in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, supply chain operations, or trade compliance. Familiarity with international shipping processes, incoterms, and freight management systems is a practical advantage. For H-1B sponsorship, having a relevant bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field strengthens the specialty occupation argument USCIS evaluates during petition review.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Flexport?
You can browse and apply for Flexport Operations openings directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your immigration status before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to Flexport's freight and logistics focus, emphasizing cross-border operations experience, customs knowledge, or supply chain analytics. Following up with the recruiting team about sponsorship early in the process avoids surprises at the offer stage.
How do I time my application to Flexport around my visa status?
Timing depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, start engaging Flexport at least six months before your OPT expires so there's enough runway for H-1B cap registration, which opens each March for an October 1 start. TN holders can change employers more quickly since TN status doesn't involve a lottery. For any status, confirm Flexport has started the DOL Labor Condition Application process before your start date is locked in.
