Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Electrician Jobs at FTI Jobs
Obtain Your Journeyman or Master Electrician License
FTI's consulting engagements often require state-licensed electricians for client site compliance. Research the reciprocity rules for the state where the role is based before your interview, since licensure requirements vary and affect your start timeline.
Target FTI's Infrastructure and Government Contracts Divisions
FTI staffs electricians heavily on infrastructure consulting and government-adjacent projects. Filtering your applications to these practice areas improves your fit signal, since these teams have clearer precedent for sponsoring specialty trade roles.
Confirm Your Visa Category Fits a Trade Specialty Occupation
H-1B sponsorship for electricians requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means a direct nexus between a bachelor's degree field and the job duties. Ask FTI's recruiter specifically how they have structured the role definition in past filings.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open FTI Electrician Roles
Not every FTI electrician posting is attached to a sponsorship-eligible project. Use Migrate Mate to surface the specific FTI listings where sponsorship has been confirmed, so you apply where your visa situation is already accounted for.
Request DOL Prevailing Wage Documentation Before Signing
FTI must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying that your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for electricians in that geographic area. Ask your HR contact to confirm the wage level designation before you finalize the offer to avoid surprises during filing.

Find Electrician at FTI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does FTI sponsor H-1B visas for Electricians?
Yes, FTI has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for technical roles including Electricians, though sponsorship is tied to specific project needs and role qualifications. For an Electrician position to qualify under H-1B, FTI must demonstrate the role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards, which typically requires a direct relationship between a bachelor's degree field and the job duties.
How do I apply for Electrician jobs at FTI?
Applications go through FTI's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. Before applying, confirm the posting notes visa sponsorship eligibility, since not every electrician opening is attached to a sponsorship-ready engagement. Migrate Mate lets you browse verified FTI Electrician listings where sponsorship has been documented, narrowing your search to roles that fit your immigration situation from the start.
Which visa types does FTI commonly use for Electrician roles?
FTI sponsors across several visa categories for Electrician positions, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT for recent graduates completing their practical training period. For longer-term employees, FTI has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree background, and how the specific role is structured.
What qualifications does FTI expect for sponsored Electrician positions?
FTI's consulting engagements typically require a combination of formal electrical training or a relevant degree, state licensure such as a Journeyman or Master Electrician credential, and demonstrated experience on commercial or industrial projects. Because H-1B eligibility requires specialty occupation status, roles tied to sponsorship at FTI are generally structured around candidates with both technical credentials and documented professional experience.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an FTI Electrician role?
Timeline depends on the visa type. For H-1B, FTI must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the USCIS petition, and cap-subject cases cannot begin before October 1 following a March registration window. Premium processing at USCIS can reduce the adjudication window to roughly 15 business days. E-3 and TN sponsorship typically move faster since neither is subject to an annual lottery.
