Target roles aligned with federal IT contracts
GDIT's sponsorship activity concentrates in technology roles supporting government contracts. Focus your search on software engineering, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and systems integration positions, where the company has the strongest hiring and sponsorship track record.
Understand the security clearance dynamic
Many GDIT roles require or prefer a U.S. security clearance, which visa holders cannot hold. Focus applications on commercial or unclassified contract positions, which are more accessible to H-1B and Green Card candidates without clearance eligibility.
Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified sponsorship history
Not every GDIT job listing will mention visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and prioritize roles at companies like GDIT with confirmed H-1B and Green Card filings.
Apply through GDIT's government contracts division
GDIT hires heavily for programs under the Department of Defense, DHS, and civilian agencies. Technology professionals in IT modernization, data analytics, and network engineering are among the roles that have historically attracted sponsorship consideration within these divisions.
Prepare for a structured, multi-stage interview process
As a large federal contractor, GDIT runs formal hiring processes that can involve multiple technical and compliance interviews. Prepare to articulate your work authorization status early, since program managers often need to confirm sponsorship eligibility before extending offers.

Find General Dynamics Information Technology JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does General Dynamics Information Technology sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, General Dynamics Information Technology sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying technology roles. Sponsorship tends to be concentrated in positions that don't require a U.S. security clearance, since H-1B holders are generally ineligible for classified work. Software engineering, IT support, cloud, and data-focused roles on unclassified contracts are the most realistic targets for sponsored candidates.
What types of visas does General Dynamics Information Technology sponsor?
GDIT sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H-1B work visas and Green Card pathways through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories. This means the company can support candidates at both the initial work authorization stage and through permanent residency, making it a meaningful long-term option for eligible technology professionals.
Which departments or roles at General Dynamics Information Technology are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at GDIT is most common in technology-facing roles, particularly software development, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, data analytics, and IT systems integration. Positions sitting under unclassified government contracts are the most accessible to visa-sponsored candidates. Roles requiring active U.S. security clearances are generally not available to H-1B or Green Card applicants.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at General Dynamics Information Technology?
Start with Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history so you can identify current GDIT openings where the company has a demonstrated record of sponsoring H-1B or Green Card candidates. Because GDIT job listings don't always explicitly advertise sponsorship, filtering by confirmed filing history is a more reliable approach than relying on job description language alone.
How do I approach the application process at General Dynamics Information Technology as a visa candidate?
Be upfront about your visa status early in the process. GDIT's hiring for government programs involves compliance reviews, and program managers often need to confirm sponsorship eligibility before moving candidates forward. Apply to roles on unclassified contracts, confirm the position doesn't require a security clearance, and be prepared for a multi-stage interview process that may include both technical and program-level reviews.
