Frame your credentials around client-facing outcomes
Genpact's Business Development hiring centers on demonstrated revenue impact and client relationship growth, not just consulting credentials. Quantify pipeline contributions, deal sizes you've influenced, and cross-functional projects to strengthen your profile before applying.
Target Genpact's industry verticals strategically
Genpact clusters its Business Development hiring around financial services, healthcare, and manufacturing verticals. Aligning your resume and outreach to one of these practice areas signals domain fluency, which carries weight in consulting sales roles where industry credibility closes deals.
Clarify your visa type before the offer stage
Genpact sponsors multiple visa categories, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Knowing which pathway applies to your citizenship before interviews lets you ask informed questions about timelines and avoids surprises when the offer comes and HR begins the petitioning process.
Understand how OPT timing affects your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your authorized work period and the H-1B cap-gap window directly shape when you can start. Genpact's HR teams are familiar with this, but you should confirm your OPT expiration date and STEM extension eligibility before accepting an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Business Development roles at Genpact
Business Development openings at Genpact are distributed across practice areas and regions, making them easy to miss in a broad search. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Genpact roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship so you're applying to positions where your status won't be a barrier.
Ask HR specifically about LCA filing timelines
For H-1B or E-3 positions, Genpact must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your petition proceeds. Asking HR about their internal LCA process early in negotiations helps you gauge how quickly they can move and whether the timeline aligns with your current status expiration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Genpact sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Genpact sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. As a large professional services firm with significant international hiring activity, Genpact is an established H-1B petitioner. Business Development positions that meet the specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, are eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Genpact?
Applications go through Genpact's careers portal, where Business Development openings are listed by vertical and region. You can also find roles confirmed for visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for Genpact positions open to sponsored candidates. Tailoring your application to a specific industry vertical, such as financial services or healthcare, improves your chances of progressing.
Which visa types does Genpact commonly use for Business Development roles?
Genpact sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for Business Development hires, depending on your citizenship and background. Australian citizens are eligible for the E-3 visa. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students transitioning into full-time roles.
What qualifications does Genpact expect for Business Development roles?
Genpact generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, combined with experience in consultative sales or client relationship management. For mid-to-senior roles, domain expertise in one of Genpact's core verticals, financial services, healthcare, or manufacturing, is a practical requirement rather than a preference. Strong communication and deal-structuring skills are consistently prioritized.
How do I think about visa sponsorship timelines when pursuing a role at Genpact?
Timeline depends on which visa applies to you. H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap with an April filing window and an October 1 start date, so offer timing relative to that cycle matters. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often within weeks of an offer. For any pathway, Genpact's HR team needs to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before petitioning USCIS, so factor that step into your expected start date.
