INTRODUCTION
Georgian Court University seeks applicants for a half-time, 10-month, non-tenure track lecturer position for Fall 2026. An instructor is sought to teach and serve as coordinator for 200 level Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II Lecture and Laboratory courses for biology majors, nurses and other pre-health majors, as well as, potentially, upper level electives in their field of interest and general education courses within the university’s core curriculum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach 6-8 contact hours each semester of A&P lecture and laboratory lecture sections
- Coordinate other instructors in collaboration with the department chair to ensure consistency of content and experiences for students in all course sections
- Respond in timely fashion to student, peer and leadership communications
- Facilitate learning and learner development within and beyond the classroom
- Assist in advising / mentoring students
- Participate in departmental meetings and service
- Collaborate in program development, student recruitment, student remediation, and continuous program assessment and improvement
- Regularly participate in course assessment and program assessment and be willing to make improvements in teaching/advising
- Participate in departmental functions such as lectures, admissions events, etc.
- Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice and service in all aspects of interaction
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D., M.D., D.O., D.P.M. or other medical/health sciences degree highly desirable. M.S. in Biology or equivalent field from an accredited institution with significant professional experience considered
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college/university level
- Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and use of course management systems, such as Blackboard
- Experience with the use of an Anatomage Table is an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
- Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
- Availability for instruction of daytime (8-5) and possibly Sunday lecture and lab
