Align your portfolio to FDA-regulated software
Globus Medical builds software for Class II and Class III medical devices, where FDA validation and IEC 62304 compliance shape engineering work. Highlight any experience with regulated software development environments, design controls, or verification and validation documentation in your application materials.
Target roles that map to specialty occupation criteria
H-1B eligibility requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Software Engineer positions in embedded systems or surgical navigation at a medical device company typically satisfy this threshold more clearly than generalist roles, so filter your search toward those functions.
Confirm OPT authorization before your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your Employment Authorization Document must be valid before your first day. Globus Medical uses E-Verify, so your name, date of birth, and work authorization on your EAD must exactly match federal records to clear the I-9 process without delays.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer after the registration window closes, your attorney and Globus Medical's HR team will need to plan for a cap-gap or a following-year filing, so flag your status timeline early in negotiations.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Software Engineer openings
Sponsorship-confirmed Software Engineer roles at Globus Medical are filtered and listed on Migrate Mate, saving you the manual work of cross-referencing job boards with OFLC disclosure data to verify which postings realistically support visa sponsorship.
Ask your recruiter about PERM labor certification upfront
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 requires DOL PERM labor certification, a process Globus Medical initiates on your behalf. Confirming whether a role falls within their PERM-eligible engineering positions early avoids surprises after your H-1B is already approved.

Does Globus Medical sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Globus Medical sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineers. The company has an established sponsorship process through its HR and legal teams, and Software Engineer roles in medical device software development typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. Sponsorship support is most common for full-time, permanent positions rather than contract roles.
Which visa types does Globus Medical support for Software Engineer roles?
Globus Medical supports a range of visa categories for Software Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT for qualifying internships, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible engineering classifications, J-1 for exchange visitors, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. The visa type available to you depends on your current status, degree, and the specific role.
What qualifications does Globus Medical expect for sponsored Software Engineer positions?
Most Software Engineer roles at Globus Medical require a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with embedded C or C++, real-time operating systems, or software development in regulated environments is frequently listed. Roles tied to surgical robotics or imaging systems may require additional domain knowledge in medical device software standards such as IEC 62304.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Globus Medical?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer roles at Globus Medical directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters active openings by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific engineering domain of the role, whether that is embedded systems, cloud infrastructure, or regulatory software, and flag your visa status early in the recruiter screening call.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer at Globus Medical?
Timeline depends on your visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can be confirmed within days if your EAD is already valid. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual cap requires USCIS registration in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. H-1B premium processing currently targets a 15 business day adjudication window after USCIS receives the petition, though PERM-based Green Card cases run on a multi-year timeline.
