Target roles tied to Epic's core platform
Epic's Green Card sponsorships cluster around software development, technical implementation, and clinical informatics roles. Focus your applications on teams building or deploying Epic's EHR platform, where the company has the clearest pattern of sponsoring international employees through to permanent residence.
Distinguish EB-2 from EB-3 before interviewing
Epic files under both EB-2 and EB-3 depending on the role's degree requirements and your qualifications. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers roles needing a bachelor's degree. Know which category your target role falls under before your first recruiter call.
Document your credentials for PERM labor certification
The PERM process requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. worker is available for your role. Gather official transcripts, credential evaluations for foreign degrees, and employment verification letters early. Gaps or inconsistencies in your education history can stall the PERM application significantly.
Use OFLC Wage Search to validate your offer
Epic must pay the prevailing wage for your specific occupation and work location under PERM rules. Before accepting an offer, cross-check your title and geography against the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the salary offered meets or exceeds the DOL wage level for that role.
Ask Epic's HR team about priority dates early
Green Card timelines depend heavily on your country of birth and the current visa bulletin priority date. If you're born in India or China, EB-2 and EB-3 backlogs can span years. Raise this in the offer stage, not after you've already started, so you can plan your long-term authorization accordingly.
Search Epic's Green Card filings on Migrate Mate
Before applying, search Migrate Mate to review Epic's Green Card filing history by role type and location. Seeing which job titles and departments have active sponsorship patterns helps you target the teams most likely to initiate and complete the PERM and I-140 process for your position.
Epic Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Epic sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Epic sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. Sponsorship is most common in software engineering, technical implementation, and clinical informatics roles. The process involves PERM labor certification filed with DOL, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS.
Which roles at Epic are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Epic is most consistently tied to software development, EHR implementation, and technical consulting roles on its core healthcare platform. Positions requiring specialized knowledge of Epic's proprietary systems or a specific technical degree tend to move forward with sponsorship more reliably than generalist or support roles.
How do I start the Green Card process at Epic?
The process begins after you've established yourself in a qualifying role at Epic. Your employer initiates PERM labor certification with DOL, which can take six months or longer. Once certified, Epic files an I-140 petition with USCIS on your behalf. You can't self-petition through Epic's standard EB-2 or EB-3 track.
How long does Epic's Green Card sponsorship process take?
The timeline varies significantly based on your country of birth and the EB category. PERM labor certification alone can take six to twelve months. For applicants born in countries without visa backlogs, the full process can complete in two to three years. Applicants from India or China face much longer waits due to per-country demand on EB-2 and EB-3 visa numbers.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Epic that include sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Epic's verified Green Card filing history by job title and location. This shows you which roles and offices have an active sponsorship track record, so you can prioritize applications to teams where PERM and I-140 filings are part of the normal employment path rather than a case-by-case decision.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Epic?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
