Target roles with a long-term project footprint
Siemens tends to sponsor Green Cards for roles tied to ongoing infrastructure, digital transformation, and engineering programs. Positions with multi-year project cycles are more likely to receive sponsorship than short-term or contract-based engagements.
Understand Siemens's PERM-based sponsorship pathway
Most Green Card sponsorships at Siemens go through PERM labor certification, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Understanding this process helps you ask informed questions during the interview stage.
Express long-term intent early in the hiring process
Siemens allocates Green Card sponsorship to employees it views as long-term assets. Framing your career goals around sustained contributions to Siemens's consulting and technology divisions signals you're a worthwhile sponsorship investment.
Focus on engineering and technology divisions
Siemens's strongest Green Card sponsorship activity tends to be concentrated in electrical engineering, software development, and industrial automation roles. Targeting these divisions improves your chances of landing a role where sponsorship is routine, not exceptional.
Search for verified Green Card sponsors before applying
Not every open role at Siemens comes with guaranteed sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on positions where Green Card support is confirmed.
Ask directly about sponsorship during the offer stage
At Siemens, Green Card sponsorship is typically confirmed during offer negotiation, not automatically included. Raising the topic professionally at that stage, rather than after signing, gives HR time to initiate the process through the correct internal channels.
Siemens Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Siemens sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Siemens sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company has a consistent record of filing Green Card petitions, particularly for roles in engineering, software development, and professional services. Sponsorship is generally initiated after a period of employment and is tied to business need and the employee's role.
Which roles and departments at Siemens typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Siemens is most common in technical and specialized roles, including electrical engineers, software engineers, automation specialists, and project managers within its consulting and industrial divisions. Corporate functions such as finance and supply chain may also qualify depending on the complexity and specialization of the position.
How do I start the Green Card process at Siemens?
The process typically begins through Siemens's internal immigration team or an outside immigration counsel retained by the company. Most cases follow the PERM labor certification route, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition. As an employee, your main role is to provide documentation of your qualifications and maintain valid work authorization throughout the process.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Siemens?
The full Green Card process at Siemens, from PERM filing to receiving a Green Card, commonly takes several years depending on your nationality and the visa category used. Applicants from countries with high demand, such as India, face significantly longer waits due to annual per-country limits. Planning ahead and starting the process early in your employment is important.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Siemens that include sponsorship?
Siemens posts open roles across its career portal, but not every listing explicitly states whether Green Card sponsorship is available. Migrate Mate tracks verified Green Card sponsors and surfaces Siemens roles where sponsorship history is confirmed, saving you time and helping you apply with confidence rather than guessing based on job description language alone.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Siemens?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
