Document your field operations credentials specifically
Groundworks looks for Service Operations Managers who can demonstrate hands-on oversight of field crews, not just office-based management. Pull together evidence of scheduling, safety compliance, and technician performance metrics from your previous roles before you apply.
Target Groundworks locations with active hiring
Groundworks operates across dozens of regional markets with uneven hiring demand. Search by specific metro areas where they run foundation repair and waterproofing services, since openings in high-growth markets move faster and often have more flexibility on sponsorship timelines.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Groundworks openings efficiently
Groundworks posts Service Operations Manager roles across multiple job boards, which makes it easy to miss active sponsorship-eligible positions. Use Migrate Mate to surface and track verified openings at Groundworks that align with your visa type and start date requirements.
Align your offer letter timeline with H-2B cap cycles
H-2B visas operate on a semi-annual cap, and petition windows open early in the fiscal half-year. If your offer comes through near a cap deadline, work with your employer contact to confirm USCIS filing dates before accepting a start date that falls outside the available allocation period.
Clarify the employer's E-Verify enrollment before signing
Groundworks, as a multi-state contractor, is subject to E-Verify requirements in several jurisdictions. Confirm your hiring contact can walk you through the I-9 and E-Verify process at your specific regional office, as onboarding timelines can differ from market to market.
Frame your resume around KPIs Groundworks prioritizes
Facilities and property services companies measure Service Operations Managers on crew utilization, job completion rates, and customer satisfaction scores. Quantify your operational impact in those terms so your application reads as directly relevant to the business outcomes Groundworks cares about.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Groundworks sponsor H-1B visas for Service Operations Managers?
Groundworks' visa sponsorship for Service Operations Manager roles has primarily been through the H-2B visa program rather than H-1B visa. H-1B sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which is harder to establish for field operations management positions. If you're targeting this role, confirm the specific visa pathway with the recruiter before advancing in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Operations Manager roles at Groundworks?
The H-2B nonimmigrant visa is the category Groundworks has used for Service Operations Manager sponsorship. H-2B covers temporary non-agricultural workers in roles where the employer can demonstrate a seasonal or peak-load need. Candidates should be aware that H-2B carries annual cap constraints enforced by USCIS, so timing your application relative to cap filing periods matters.
What qualifications and experience does Groundworks expect for a Service Operations Manager?
Groundworks typically looks for candidates with direct experience managing field service or trade crews, ideally in residential or commercial contracting environments. Strong candidates can show a track record in scheduling, crew development, safety compliance, and customer escalation handling. Familiarity with the foundation repair or waterproofing industry is a plus, but broader facilities services management experience is often transferable.
How do I apply for Service Operations Manager jobs at Groundworks?
Groundworks posts openings across its regional markets on an ongoing basis. You can browse current Service Operations Manager positions and filter by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which tracks verified listings from Groundworks directly. When applying, tailor your materials to the specific market location, since regional managers often have significant input into hiring decisions at this level.
How do I plan my timeline around the H-2B sponsorship process at Groundworks?
H-2B petitions must be filed with USCIS well in advance of your intended start date, and the semi-annual cap means slots can fill quickly after each filing window opens. Expect the full process, from offer acceptance through visa issuance, to take several months. Align your job search so you have an offer in hand before the relevant cap period opens to avoid waiting through an additional cycle.
