Frame your credentials around service-sales overlap
Groundworks Service & Sales Representatives are expected to assess job sites, price work, and close contracts in a single visit. Tailor your resume to show both technical field experience and direct sales outcomes, not just one or the other.
Target Groundworks markets with active hiring
Groundworks operates across multiple regional brands in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest. Identify which subsidiary is hiring in your target metro, since job postings and sponsorship decisions are managed at the local branch level, not corporate.
Understand the H-2B cap and petition timeline
H-2B visas are subject to a 66,000 annual cap split across two fiscal half-years. Groundworks typically files petitions for seasonal or cyclical demand periods, so ask your recruiter which half-year filing window your start date falls under.
Prepare a DOL-ready employment history before your interview
The H-2B process requires your employer to document your qualifications through DOL. Having a clear, verified record of prior service, inspection, or residential sales work speeds up the certification phase and reduces back-and-forth during filing.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before signing an offer
As a federal contractor and regulated employer, Groundworks uses E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Before accepting an offer, verify that your sponsoring branch is the named employer on the petition, not a staffing intermediary, to avoid authorization mismatches at onboarding.
Search open roles directly through Migrate Mate
Browse active Service & Sales Representative openings at Groundworks that are flagged for visa sponsorship using Migrate Mate. Filtering by visa type and employer lets you focus on roles where H-2B sponsorship is already part of the hiring process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Groundworks sponsor H-1B visas for Service & Sales Representatives?
Groundworks does not typically sponsor H-1B visas for Service & Sales Representative roles. This position is classified as a seasonal or temporary field-based role requiring hands-on site work rather than a specialty occupation requiring a professional degree, which is the H-1B standard. Groundworks primarily uses the H-2B program for this function, which is designed for temporary non-agricultural workers in exactly this kind of field service and sales capacity.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service & Sales Representative roles at Groundworks?
The H-2B nonimmigrant visa is the primary sponsorship pathway Groundworks uses for Service & Sales Representatives. The H-2B program covers temporary or seasonal workers in non-agricultural roles, which aligns with the cyclical nature of foundation repair and waterproofing demand. Candidates with independent work authorization, such as an Employment Authorization Document, can also apply without triggering the sponsorship process.
How do I apply for Service & Sales Representative jobs at Groundworks?
Start by identifying the specific Groundworks subsidiary operating in your target region, since hiring is managed locally across brands like JES Foundation Repair, Basement Systems, and others. Applications typically go through Groundworks' careers portal. To find roles already filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility, you can browse current openings on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where H-2B sponsorship is part of the active hiring cycle.
What qualifications does Groundworks expect for Service & Sales Representative candidates?
Groundworks looks for candidates who can handle both the technical inspection component and the in-home sales close in a single appointment. Prior experience in residential services, construction, home improvement sales, or field estimating is strongly preferred. A valid driver's license is typically required since the role involves daily travel to customer sites. Strong communication skills and comfort discussing project costs directly with homeowners are consistently emphasized in job postings across Groundworks' regional brands.
How long does the H-2B sponsorship process take for a Groundworks role?
The H-2B process involves multiple government steps before you can start work. Groundworks must first file a temporary labor certification with the DOL, which can take several weeks, followed by an H-2B petition with USCIS. Consular processing adds additional time for candidates outside the U.S. The full timeline from offer to authorization is typically three to four months, so coordinating your start date expectations with your Groundworks recruiter early in the process matters.
