Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding ALTEN H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Align your degree to ALTEN's specialty occupation roles
ALTEN sponsors H-1B for roles that meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning your degree field must directly relate to the job. Map your transcript to the specific engineering or IT discipline in the job posting before you apply, not after you get an offer.
Target project-based technical openings at ALTEN
ALTEN deploys consultants to client sites across industries like aerospace, automotive, and telecom. Roles on active client projects move faster through internal approval. Look for postings tied to named programs or client verticals rather than general headcount pipeline listings.
Verify your wage level against ALTEN's LCA filings
DOL requires ALTEN to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and work location. Before negotiating your offer, use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for your job title and metro area. Underpaid offers can delay or jeopardize H-1B certification.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm ALTEN's sponsorship history
Before investing time in ALTEN's interview process, verify their H-1B filing history for roles matching your occupation code. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer and job title, so you can confirm ALTEN actively sponsors your specific role type.
Prepare for the H-1B lottery window well before April
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year. If you're on OPT or CPT, coordinate your start-date expectations with ALTEN's HR team early. Consulting firms often plan project staffing around the October 1 cap-subject start date, so timing your offer matters.
Get your O*NET job zone classification ready for interviews
ALTEN's immigration team will need to document that your role requires a specialized degree. Pull the O*NET occupation profile for your target job title and confirm it falls in Job Zone 4 or 5. Bringing this to discussions with HR signals you understand the H-1B documentation requirements.
ALTEN H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ALTEN sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ALTEN sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in technical and professional roles. The company operates as an engineering and technology consulting firm, and sponsorship is typically tied to roles in software engineering, IT infrastructure, systems engineering, and related disciplines where a specialized degree is required by the position.
Which roles at ALTEN are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at ALTEN is most common in technical consulting roles deployed to client projects, including software developers, embedded systems engineers, network engineers, and data analysts. Roles in project management or business development with a clear technical degree requirement may also qualify, but sponsorship is less consistent for those positions.
How do I start the H-1B application process at ALTEN?
Once ALTEN extends a job offer, their HR or immigration team will initiate the H-1B process through a corporate immigration attorney. You'll need to provide your educational credentials, passport, and any prior immigration documents. ALTEN files the Labor Condition Application with DOL first, then submits the I-129 petition to USCIS after LCA certification.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at a consulting firm like ALTEN?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes several months after the April lottery. For cap-subject candidates, employment typically begins October 1 at the earliest. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce the adjudication window significantly if ALTEN elects to use it, though the lottery registration timeline itself cannot be expedited.
How do I find open H-1B roles at ALTEN before applying?
Migrate Mate lists ALTEN job openings filtered by verified H-1B sponsorship history, so you can focus on roles the company has actually sponsored rather than guessing. Cross-reference those listings with ALTEN's careers page to confirm active openings, then prioritize applying to positions tied to specific client programs or technical practice areas.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at ALTEN?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
