- Collaborate across regions, including with our Southern California CM leadership, on hiring strategy and team development
- Oversee project execution, including scope, schedule, staffing, and client satisfaction
- Represent Kennedy Jenks in the local market through industry involvement and relationship building
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Deep understanding of the Northern California market with established client relationships
- Proven success in business development, project delivery, and team leadership
- Experience in construction management across water, wastewater, pipeline, stormwater, or related infrastructure
- A builder’s mindset, someone energized by growth, opportunity, and creating something bigger
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead both people and projects effectively
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience
- BS or MS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar
- PE license or ability to obtain within one year required
- Familiarity with alternative delivery methods (GCCM, PDB, DB) is a plus
What Makes This Role Different
- Immediate impact – Step into a market with more work than we can currently support
- True leadership opportunity – Build and shape a team, not just manage one
- Strong foundation – Established clients, trusted reputation, and proven delivery teams
- Entrepreneurial environment – Backed by a firm that supports growth, innovation, and autonomy
- Meaningful work – Deliver critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects that matter to communities
If you’re looking for a role where you can step into momentum, make a visible impact, and help lead the next phase of growth, we’d love to connect.

Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
Kennedy/Jenks hires for technically demanding roles in water, wastewater, and environmental engineering. Before applying, confirm your degree field maps directly to the role's requirements. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims, so a mismatch between your major and the job description can trigger an RFE.
Research prevailing wage tiers for your target role
Kennedy/Jenks must certify your offered salary meets DOL prevailing wage levels before filing your H-1B petition. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage tier for your specific occupation and work location. Coming in at Level I or II signals entry-level classification, which can complicate approval.
Target project teams with active federal or municipal contracts
H-1B sponsorship at consulting firms like Kennedy/Jenks is most common on teams tied to long-term infrastructure or municipal water projects. These engagements justify the multi-year sponsorship commitment. When networking internally, ask which practice areas are currently staffed on multi-year contracts.
Use Migrate Mate to verify Kennedy/Jenks's LCA filing history
Before your interviews advance, check which job titles and office locations Kennedy/Jenks has filed Labor Condition Applications for. Migrate Mate surfaces this DOL data by employer, so you can see which roles have historically received H-1B sponsorship and target your application accordingly.
Clarify sponsorship timing before accepting an offer
Kennedy/Jenks operates on a project billing model, so your start date may hinge on H-1B cap registration in April and an October 1 start. Ask HR whether they'll file for cap-subject registration or if the role qualifies for a cap-exempt petition through a government research component.
Document your technical expertise with project-specific evidence
Engineering consulting H-1B petitions benefit from detailed support letters that connect your credentials to the specific deliverables of the role. Prepare a portfolio of project outcomes, published reports, or design work that demonstrates why your specialized background is necessary for the position.
Kennedy/Jenks Consultants H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Kennedy/Jenks Consultants sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in engineering and environmental consulting roles. Sponsorship is most common for positions requiring specialized technical expertise in areas like water resources, environmental engineering, and civil infrastructure where the firm has demonstrated staffing needs that align with H-1B specialty occupation requirements.
Which roles at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Kennedy/Jenks is concentrated in technical engineering roles, particularly in water and wastewater engineering, environmental consulting, and civil design. Positions that require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related engineering discipline are the strongest candidates for sponsorship, as they satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria most cleanly.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants?
Once Kennedy/Jenks extends a conditional offer, their immigration team or outside counsel files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, then submits the H-1B petition to USCIS. For cap-subject cases, registration opens in March and selection happens in April. If selected, employment typically begins October 1. Confirm these steps directly with the HR team during your offer stage.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants?
For new H-1B cap-subject cases, the full timeline from lottery registration to employment start spans roughly six months, with an October 1 effective date. Standard USCIS processing adds several additional months after selection. Kennedy/Jenks may elect premium processing for faster adjudication. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, work can begin as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants as an international applicant?
Start by identifying Kennedy/Jenks job postings that match your engineering specialty, then confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation using O*NET to validate degree requirements. Migrate Mate lets you filter employers by H-1B LCA filing history so you can focus on roles and office locations where Kennedy/Jenks has an established sponsorship track record before you apply.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Kennedy/Jenks Consultants?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
