Align your portfolio to MEP project types
Harley Ellis Devereaux focuses heavily on mechanical systems for complex building projects. Before applying, reframe your resume around HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection design work on commercial or institutional projects, since that language mirrors their actual project pipeline.
Confirm your visa category early
Mechanical Engineering roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree. If you're targeting long-term permanent residency, ask during the offer stage whether the firm has sponsored EB-2 or EB-3 PERM filings for this role.
Request PE licensure support in your offer negotiation
Many Mechanical Engineer roles at architecture and engineering firms like Harley Ellis Devereaux require or prefer a Professional Engineering license. Clarify during the offer stage whether they'll support PE exam costs or provide the supervised experience hours needed to qualify under your state's licensing board.
Search Migrate Mate for open Mechanical Engineer roles
Use Migrate Mate to filter Harley Ellis Devereaux's Mechanical Engineer openings specifically by visa sponsorship type. This lets you identify which active postings are tied to H-1B or Green Card sponsorship before you spend time on an application.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment before accepting
If you're on OPT STEM extension, your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify as a legal requirement. Confirm Harley Ellis Devereaux's enrollment directly with HR before accepting an offer, since a missing enrollment can invalidate your work authorization from day one.

Does Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, Harley Ellis Devereaux sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers. Mechanical Engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines because the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. The firm has an active sponsorship track record for this function, making it a legitimate target for international candidates.
Which visa types are commonly used for Mechanical Engineer roles at Harley Ellis Devereaux?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa path for Mechanical Engineers at firms like Harley Ellis Devereaux. For candidates seeking permanent residency, the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories are relevant, typically requiring a PERM labor certification filed through the Department of Labor. Your educational background and years of experience will determine which category your employer pursues.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Mechanical Engineer roles at Harley Ellis Devereaux?
Harley Ellis Devereaux operates in the construction and real estate sector, so Mechanical Engineer candidates are expected to have hands-on experience with MEP systems, building mechanical design, or construction administration. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is the baseline requirement for visa sponsorship eligibility. Professional Engineering licensure or progress toward it is commonly preferred for mid-to-senior level positions.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at Harley Ellis Devereaux?
You can browse and apply for Mechanical Engineer roles at Harley Ellis Devereaux through Migrate Mate, which lists their open positions filtered by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect building systems or MEP project experience that aligns with their core work. How do I plan my timeline if I need Harley Ellis Devereaux to sponsor my H-1B?
H-1B sponsorship requires your employer to submit a registration during USCIS's cap registration window, which typically opens in early March for an October 1 start. That means securing your offer and completing the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before that window opens. If you're on OPT, confirm your expiration date allows enough runway to bridge into H-1B status without a gap in work authorization.
