Target academic and faculty roles
Hillsdale College's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and instructional positions. Focus your search on faculty, research, and academic support roles where the college has a consistent history of supporting international candidates through the visa process.
Understand the liberal arts hiring context
Hillsdale's curriculum is rooted in classical liberal arts, so candidates with backgrounds in humanities, philosophy, history, or political economy tend to align best with open roles. Framing your expertise within that tradition can strengthen your application.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship early
Hillsdale has sponsored permanent residence for employees, typically through EB-2 or EB-3 pathways. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, raise the topic during early conversations with HR to understand what support the college offers.
Be prepared for a selective process
Hillsdale sponsors visas selectively, so competition for sponsored roles is meaningful. Tailor your application materials closely to the role and demonstrate a clear fit with the college's academic mission to stand out in their hiring process.
Leverage F-1 OPT as an entry point
If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Hillsdale does support this work authorization category. Starting in an OPT-eligible role can help you build institutional relationships before pursuing H-1B sponsorship in a future hiring cycle.
Browse verified sponsorship history before applying
Before investing time in an application, confirm Hillsdale is actively sponsoring for the role type you're targeting. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and apply with confidence.
