- You will influence strategy and progress across partner teams, enhancing collaboration and resolving divergent goals.
- You will communicate product strategy, progress, and business value with radical clarity to all stakeholders.
- You will support the growth of PMs and cross-functional team members by providing mentorship, coaching, and hands-on guidance.

Align your credentials to healthcare IT standards
Humana's Development Managers typically oversee teams building HIPAA-compliant systems and cloud infrastructure. Certifications in AWS, Azure, or healthcare interoperability frameworks like HL7 and FHIR strengthen your profile before you apply.
Target roles through Humana's internal career tiers
Humana structures Development Manager openings across multiple seniority bands. Filter by titles like 'Development Manager II' or 'Senior Development Manager' to find the band where your experience and visa sponsorship eligibility align with their posted requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to filter active Development Manager openings
Not every Humana job listing flags sponsorship availability upfront. Use Migrate Mate to surface Development Manager roles at Humana that are open to candidates requiring H-1B or other nonimmigrant work authorization, saving you time on applications that won't move forward.
Clarify OPT STEM extension eligibility early in interviews
Humana operates in NAICS codes that qualify for STEM OPT extensions, but the employer must be E-Verify enrolled for the extension to apply. Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your final interview round so there's no gap between OPT expiration and H-1B activation.
Negotiate your start date around USCIS cap timelines
If you need H-1B cap sponsorship, your employment can't start before October 1 of the fiscal year following the lottery. Build this into your offer negotiation with Humana's HR team so both parties have aligned expectations on when you can actually begin.
Request a PERM-inclusive offer package for long-term roles
Development Manager positions at Humana often involve multi-year roadmap ownership. If a Green Card is your goal, ask during the offer stage whether the role is structured for PERM sponsorship, since DOL requires the employer to initiate that process independently of your H-1B status.

Find Development Manager at Humana JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery and has a history of filing petitions for technology and engineering management positions. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid nonimmigrant status, Humana can also file for a cap-exempt change of status in certain circumstances, though standard cap-subject petitions are the more common path.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Humana sponsors several visa categories for this function. H-1B is the most common route for full-time Development Manager hires. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates earlier in their careers or in bridging roles. TN visas are available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying specialty occupations. For longer-term placements, Humana also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications and experience does Humana expect for Development Manager roles?
Most Development Manager openings at Humana require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, along with several years of hands-on engineering experience followed by team leadership. Familiarity with agile delivery, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and healthcare compliance frameworks like HIPAA is consistently emphasized across job postings. Senior-band roles often require prior P&L or budget accountability.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Humana?
Applications go through Humana's careers portal, but listings don't always specify whether visa sponsorship is available for each role. Using Migrate Mate lets you browse active Development Manager openings at Humana filtered by sponsorship type, so you can focus your effort on roles where your visa situation is already a fit before you apply. From there, the process moves to phone screens, technical assessments, and panel interviews with hiring managers and cross-functional stakeholders.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Humana?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for the following fiscal year, which begins October 1. If you're selected in the lottery, Humana files your full petition shortly after. You can't start working under a new H-1B until October 1, so target offers between November and February of the prior year to give both sides enough lead time. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, work can begin as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
