Tailor your portfolio to healthcare data
Humana's Business Data Analyst roles focus heavily on Medicare Advantage claims, member outcomes, and cost modeling. Presenting portfolio work that mirrors healthcare datasets or payer-provider analytics makes your application far more relevant to their hiring teams.
Verify your credentials meet specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS rules. For Business Data Analyst positions, a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field like statistics, computer science, or health informatics strengthens that classification considerably.
Search Humana openings through Migrate Mate
Humana posts Business Data Analyst roles across multiple business units with varying sponsorship activity. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Humana positions that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're not applying blind to roles that won't move forward.
Engage Humana recruiters before the H-1B cap deadline
H-1B cap filings open in March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Humana, connecting with their talent acquisition team by January gives you time to complete interviews, receive an offer, and allow internal legal to prepare the petition well before the registration window closes.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline upfront
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM OPT extension eligibility before your first interview. Humana's hiring cycle for analytical roles can run eight to twelve weeks, and a tight authorization window creates complications for both you and their HR compliance team.
Understand what a DOL Labor Condition Application covers
Before your offer is finalized, your employer files an LCA with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for the role and location. Review the public access file Humana is required to maintain so you understand what wage tier your position is benchmarked against.

Find Business Data Analyst at Humana JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for Business Data Analysts?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for Business Data Analyst roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for analytical and data-focused positions across its corporate functions. Sponsorship is not automatic with every posting, so confirming sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Business Data Analyst jobs at Humana?
You can apply directly through Humana's careers portal or browse visa-sponsorship-specific listings through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where sponsorship is available. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight healthcare analytics, SQL proficiency, and any experience with managed care or insurance data, since those skills align closely with what Humana's hiring teams look for in this role.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for Business Data Analyst roles?
Humana sponsors H-1B visas most commonly for Business Data Analyst positions, along with F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extensions for recent graduates. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under the USMCA. For longer-term pathways, Humana has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for analytical professionals, though those typically come after initial nonimmigrant status is established.
What qualifications does Humana expect for Business Data Analyst roles?
Humana generally expects a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or health informatics. Hands-on experience with SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is standard. Familiarity with healthcare claims data, Medicare Advantage programs, or managed care reporting gives candidates a meaningful edge over generalist applicants.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship process when targeting Humana?
H-1B registrations open in early March each year for an October 1 start date. To stay ahead of that window, aim to complete Humana's interview process and receive an offer by late January or early February. This gives their immigration counsel sufficient time to prepare the petition, file the LCA with the DOL, and submit the USCIS registration before the lottery closes.
