SALARY
Salary: $160,000 - $190,000 per year
About us
We’re a fast-growing data and cloud services organization that partners with clients to build, operate, and continuously improve modern data platforms. Our team supports companies after their platforms go live—helping them scale, run efficiently, optimize performance, and maintain reliability across complex cloud ecosystems. Our work spans cloud engineering, platform operations, and data infrastructure modernization on leading technologies. We step in as long-term partners, not just implementers, helping our customers get the most out of their investments through hands-on expertise, strong operational rigor, and a deep understanding of how great platforms should run.
WHY JOIN US?
If you enjoy working directly with external customers, solving real-world operational challenges, and being the technical expert they rely on day-to-day, this is an ideal role. You’ll work with modern data stacks, cloud-native architectures, and high-scale environments—while partnering closely with engineering, platform, and business stakeholders. You’ll join a team that values curiosity, autonomy, mentorship, and continuous improvement. This is a place where engineers sharpen their architecture skills, broaden their cloud expertise, and grow through real hands-on time with diverse customer environments. The work is fast-paced, varied, and impactful—perfect for someone who thrives in consulting, enjoys problem-solving across multiple customers, and wants exposure to advanced cloud and data technologies.
JOB DETAILS
You’ll be part of a customer-facing managed services team supporting cloud-native data platforms at scale. This role is heavily focused on platform operations, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, DBA-style optimization, and incident-to-improvement cycles, rather than pure software engineering.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Platform Operations & Optimization:
- Maintain, monitor, and enhance customer data platforms across cloud environments.
- Improve cost efficiency, performance, scalability, and reliability across Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and related ecosystems.
- Apply strong FinOps, data ops, and IT operations skills to keep platforms stable, predictable, and efficient.
- Build, improve, and support CI/CD pipelines for data and platform deployments.
- Leverage IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) to automate provisioning and environment consistency.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and incident management best practices.
- Lead or support migrations, integrations, and modernization efforts across cloud data warehouses, data lakes, and distributed systems.
- Evaluate and deploy platform features, services, and enhancements to align with customer business goals.
Customer Partnership:
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding best practices, identifying risks, and driving ongoing platform evolution.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and predictable outcomes.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES NEEDED:
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Analytics, etc.), including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in AWS and/or Azure services related to data, compute, storage, networking, and integration.
- Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Git-based pipelines).
- Strong SQL experience, including debugging and optimizing queries.
- Background in monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, and environment stability.
- Consulting experience working directly with external clients.

Clarify end-client sponsorship before applying
Jobot is a staffing firm, meaning your visa petition is typically filed by the end client, not Jobot itself. Confirm upfront whether the client is willing to sponsor before investing time in interviews.
Document your data architecture credentials thoroughly
Hiring managers at staffing firms move fast. Have your portfolio ready before outreach: ERDs, cloud architecture diagrams, and proof of hands-on work with tools like Snowflake, dbt, or Azure Synapse strengthen your specialty occupation case.
Ask specifically about LCA filing timelines
Because Jobot places contractors and permanent hires, the Labor Condition Application filing timeline can vary by engagement type. Ask the recruiter whether the role is direct hire or contract-to-hire, since that affects how quickly DOL certification can begin.
Target Jobot roles on Migrate Mate by visa type
Filter Data Architect listings on Migrate Mate by the visa type you hold. Jobot posts across multiple visa categories, and filtering by H-1B or OPT narrows the field to roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Negotiate H-1B cap filing as part of your offer
If you receive an offer before the USCIS H-1B registration window opens in March, get written confirmation that the end client will register you. Verbal assurances aren't binding, and staffing arrangements can change between offer and registration.

Find Data Architect at Jobot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Data Architects?
Jobot does sponsor H-1B visas for Data Architect roles, though the sponsoring entity is often the end client rather than Jobot directly. Because Jobot operates as a staffing firm, the client where you're placed typically files the H-1B petition. Confirming the client's sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer is the critical step most candidates overlook.
How do I apply for Data Architect jobs at Jobot?
You can browse and apply for Data Architect openings at Jobot through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can focus only on roles compatible with your status. When you apply, Jobot recruiters typically reach out quickly, so have your resume, portfolio samples, and visa documentation ready before you submit.
Which visa types are commonly used for Data Architect roles at Jobot?
Jobot sponsors Data Architects on H-1B and TN visas, and also works with F-1 OPT holders. Data architecture generally qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards given its degree requirements in computer science, information systems, or a related field, which supports most nonimmigrant work visa categories used in technology placements.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for Data Architect roles?
Jobot's Data Architect postings consistently emphasize hands-on experience designing enterprise data pipelines, cloud data warehouses, and data governance frameworks. Employers typically want proficiency with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud alongside tools such as Snowflake or Databricks. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, or a closely related field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation qualification.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap cycle?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March for an October 1 start date. If Jobot matches you with a client outside that window, the client may need to wait until the next registration period. F-1 OPT holders can work in the interim if their authorized period covers the gap, and some placements qualify for cap-exempt petitions if the end client is a nonprofit or university.
